Do any Indian Cricketers donate there time or money to help the less fortunate in a large way?
An observation of the obsene money to be made in cricket now, in contrast to the absolute poverty in the country . I was just wondering if any players have set up charities or foundations to help those less fortunate.
Public Comments
- Nobody does like that from the indian team. They all save their money only for their own self to buid big houses and own 10-20 vehicles. No all are like Adam Gilchrist.
- no idea
- players like sachin tendulkar do donate. he does charity in a private manner and does not do it in media glare. However he does openly donate his special possessions to charity auctions to raise mmoney for various causes
- All celebrities or even common people who are more fortunate to have money by their side should do it
- Most players donate; even if it is to save IT. Wonder how many of us actually do it too. Some celebrate and throw big parties for B'days. Instead they could donate some to a good charitable institution. Have seen the big names do it. Sourav, Sachin ... they do not like to discuss or share it with media. Recently, when Shoab Akhtar came, he too did charity work here in India.
- No, they don't advertise their private charities.
- not really, Indian cricketers are the most selfish fellas in the world!!
