How do we have the "stability" of a central bank without concentrating power in the hands of a few?
just wondering as the ostensible purpose of the central bank system is security and stability but obviously this concentrates power in the hands of a few whose interests may not be altruistic or long-term in nature. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=497251819335380093

- Why do we force people to use banks period. There needs to be an alternative. It is none of the Government's business to know what I make.
- Why do we need a central bank to be stable? A central bank is a terrible idea, along the lines of putting all your eggs in one basket. Healthy competition between banks for business keeps things efficient, stable, and allows for choices.
- It is in the hands of a few an just a dan few
- I don't think in the US there is much room for corruption within the Federal Reserve. They have many eyes on them, from all of the various commercial and investment banks, all of the branches of government, as well as academics. The Fed Chairman has to regularly appear before the Senate Banking Committee in a Q&A session where they are grilled and have to explain their monetary policy. Finally, they have to give periodic public speeches too. They are heavily watched and have to explain their actions regularly, I think it would be hard to be corrupt with so much scrutiny.
- Stability? Please! The Federal Reserve totally manipulates everything to suit their own and the Elites agenda. That is the real purpose of the Federal Reserve. They are wolves in sheep's clothing, and they are pure evil. They artificially create all inflations and recessions and depressions. They artificially raise and lower the interest rates to suit their purposes. And they answer to no one! They are a private corporation, no more Federal than Federal Express. Try looking them up in the blue pages of any phone book! Bet you won't find them anywhere in there! By the way.....I applaud you for posting that video link! I have already seen this one, but it is a great one, and needs and deserves as much exposure as possible! Thank you! *sm*
