- Hi, You can easily transfer money from UK to your Indian Bank account. You can transfer it using a procedure called "Telegraphic Transfer (TT)". Contact your bank (or any bank) in UK for this service. In this, you pay British Pounds to your bank in UK. They would charge you a fee for providing this service. They would also mention the exchange rate for money transfer & how much Indian Rupee you would get. You would need to provide the following details: - Your name, address, contact number - Your Indian Bank account number - Complete address of your bank in India (incl. postal code) - Swift code (if applicable) Contact your bank in India, ask them if any Swift code is needed for transferring money into the account & ask them the Swift code for your account. Provide all these details to your bank in UK. Pls note: 1) Money Transfer through TT usually takes 5 to 15 "working" days, but may vary.. ask your bank in UK. 2) The bank in India will deduct some amount as administrative cost, once the money reaches India. Ask UK bank & the bank in India for estimates. TT is a secure & good method to transfer big amounts of money, or if you want to transfer money directly to your bank accounts. If you want cash pickup facility, try other equally secure, very fast but expensive methods like: http://www.moneygram.com http://www.westernunion.com For any further queries regarding this, please feel free to contact me. Good Luck.
