how do i make money from my indian cooking skills?

i recently got into indian cooking and have learnt how to make chicken, mince meat and chick-peas curry - i invited some friends over and they all gave 11 out of 10 for my culinary skills! i'm sure there are others out there (single professionals, students) who would love to learn to cook. how can i find these people?

  1. join a restorant, or open one
  2. get a job at a indian restaurant
  3. go to Indian shop a offer your services they might give u a job
  4. start your own business. Set up your own website. Work with a caterer. The 'visiting cook' businesses are popular now in urban areas.
  5. open up a restarant or offer your indian cooking skills to cater for weddings,, buffets for birthdays and other special ocassions
  6. write a book
  7. Why don't you look out for food fairs in your area, and maybe get a pitch to show off your skills, make some money in the process. And enrol at college to gain more skills, that's if your college offers Indian cooking courses. I will have a prawn rogan josh with pilau rice, onions bhajis. PLEASE!
  8. just how did you learn to cook Indian food? from a book, just how authentic is your cooking have you ever been to India to taste the real stuff or are you basing your food on the crap that is served in the UK restaurants, your friends might be giving you the thumbs up but unless you have an idea of how real Indian food should taste i wouldn't go calling yourself an Indian chef, there are many types of Indian cuisine depending on region and all have different tastes the daal, thakari, mangsha, mourgi, maach, mishti, all vary depending where you go, cooking for your friends is one thing teaching others how to cook is something else, most westerners haven't a clue how real Indian food should taste, i would try your cooking skills on Indians who are very particular about their food before you start your culinary Enterprise
  9. post an add in the local news paper?? or your local church. make an add to put on buletin boards. posting here is silly ??? I live in California
  10. Opening your own restaurant is too big of a step. Working out of your house as an Indian food caterer for small to medium parties would be easier first step. Marketing and promoting yourself is the other side of running a business. Whether there is enough demand for Indian food for parties is a crucial question. For example, if I was having a wedding I might love Indian but might be afraid that it might not appeal to all my guests. Another option is focusing on making meals for working parents that can take home to feed the family.
  11. you cant. theres a whole HUGE load of stuff to learn before youd be good enough to say you can teach others. indian cooking does not extend only to curries!!
  12. go and work in some nice Indian restaurant and get some more experience as that way you will know for sure how good your cooking is as your friends might be a little modest then see what you want to do have a goal in mind and work towards it. all the best
