Im a housewife in US&does not hold credit/debit card.Whatz the limit i can convert USD to INR in the exchange?

Im visiting India next month and would like to have some money to spend on the way....Pls advise..Im holding an Indian passport.

  1. you can only convert the actual number of dollars that you have. There will be a fee. If your in the drug running business, you will be reported if you try to take $5000 or more out of the country. Otherwise no one really cares about how much you take on vacation, or to move back to India or what ever your plans are. People come and go in and out of different countries all the time. You can only take what you have. Enjoy your trip. Business men have been known to take massive amounts of money, and of course drug dealers have also moved lots of money. How could they do this if there were limits? Take your money, go to your bank, change it and walk away. They will charge a small fee for the transaction. Thats about it.
