Just type in on google US exchange rates, and you can find the daily exchange rate for most if not all countries.

I was there in 2004, and the exchange rate was 47 rupees to the dollar. I don't know what it is now, do like the other guy said and search for exchange rates. I'd use yahoo though, just coz I don't like google

the value of a dollar fluctuates around 40-42 rs.
last i checked 1 dollar turned into 40 - 45 rupee. (when i went in 95, it was 33 rupes to the dollar. by my next trip in 2004 it was up to 40.)
