Where does the european central bank get its money from?
hi...Ive just read that the european central bank has injected 155billion euros (212 us dollars) into the euro market, what i would like to know is where did they get that money from? Did they just make it up? thankyou Dan

- Its reserves, which is made up of the reserves of the central banks of the countries who use th Euro. Retail Banks borrow from the central bank in the country/economic area where they operate. Banks also operate under the central bank and need a license to trade from it, like the federal reserve in the US. The ECB also creates/prints the money.
