can i use yahoo finance to pay a person from another state and make sure he gets the money when i get the item

i am trying to buy an item that cost 5,000.00 dlls but I am in California and the seller is in Frorida. He suggested to open an account at yahoo finance, to have a safe transaction for both of us. I deposite the money, he sends the item, I get the item, and he gets the cash. I need to know if these is possible or if yahoo works with this kind of deal.

  1. NO -- Yahoo Finance is merely an information site where you get stock quotes and financial news. It is not a payment gateway and definitely not like Paypal or Western Union that you can use to transfer funds http://finance.yahoo.com/ Use Paypal or Western Union. You won't find anywhere on Yahoo Finance this functionality that you are looking for
  2. 5k is quite a bit of money to pay for an item that you dont know if you are going to get. For that kind of money you are going to be pissed if you find out that the seller is a fraud. Pass on this transaction. You dont know this man from adams cat. He could send you a box of bricks. See about a COD (cash on Delivery) with the post office or just pass on this altogether. 5k is quite abit of money to waste~! If your choice is between western union and paypal go with paypal. If you pay via paypal with your credit card, you have a better chance of getting your item since you can always reverse the charges if you fail to get the item that you paid for. With western union once you turn the cash over to them you can kiss it goodbye, the guy picking it up wont even need an id to get it.
