why do you think it is important to learn about personal finance ?

I want to know why is it worth to study this subject and what are the benefits of learning the basics of personal finance ??

1. Why? Do you intend to have a checking account? Credit? A home? Car? Good lord.
2. So you don't end up bouncing 1000 checks in your lifetime and wind up working until your dead because you can't afford to retire.
3. It is important to study it out for yourself because it is not taught in schools. So most people learn it from their families. And if you come from a poor or middle class family, then the chances are you do not have adequate financial education. Unless you are looking for a career in finance, you probably don't need to study it in a university. The main reason one would want to study this topic is for personal development.
