How much indian currency is allowed while going out of india???plz ans?

- Indian currency is not at all allow to take out side of India .......... yes u can exchange in foreign currency as you like but you have to declare in costume
- I don''t think they ever check. They don't even stop me from leaving since I show my passport at the ticket counter. If there is a figure, it is probably way more that a normal person would carry. If it is a large amount, it would be safer to wire the money to your US bank account.
- Trading Indian currency outside India is not legal. However, possessing them is not an issue. You can take as much as you want out of India. But, there is a cash restriction to some countries like Bhutan, Nepal,Pakistan etc.
- A person going out of India can take out with him Indian currency notes within the limits given below: a) Upto Rs.5000 to any country other than Nepal or Bhutan, and b) Any amount in denomination not exceeding Rs.100 to Nepal or Bhutan.
