can i use yahoo finance as a third party in a international car purchase?
I am interested in buying a car from a seller in spain. He has told me that he would arrange that yahoo finance will act as a third party and hold the money from the buyer until the buyer is in receipt of the goods and is happy. Is this a viable option? Does this service exist?

- Yahoo Finance is a channel on the main Yahoo site. I would be very wary of doing business in this way, especially given the current glut of scams that are out there.
- "Does this service exist?" No. Yahoo! doesn't ever get involved with financial transactions - the person you are dealing with is a fraudster. The "seller" does not own the car you have seen advertised. They have merely ripped off somebody else's advert and altered the asking price, so that the car looks ridiculously cheap. This is a common tactic used by fraudsters, to fool unwary buyers. If you send any money, you will lose it. All of it. Permanently.
- !!!!SCAM ALERT!!!! This is a very common con, but unbelievably people still fall for it. As above, any money you send will be permanently lost. You have been warned. I suggest you report it to Yahoo & the police if you have any other contact details, especially bank account details of any account they want you to pay into.
- Is this scam really still doing the rounds ? I thought everybody had heard about it by now.........
- SCAM.
