buy a car from spain through yahoo finance is this a reliable way to do it?

I have seen a car in autotrader but it is in spain with the owner and the owner says you can go through yahoo finance where they keep my money until i am satisfied with the car then i can ask them to release the money for the owner to take. Is this true and a reliable way to do a transaction. Where can i get more information about this.

  1. Its a guaranteed scam. You send your money, they keep it. You get nothing in return except for being put on a "suckers list" for future scams.
  2. Yahoo! doesn't get involved in third-party transactions... Yahoo! Finance is a webpage, not an escrow service. If you want to give your money away, keep proceeding with this transaction. It's a well-known scam. ("n", don't you wish we got a dollar for every time we answered this question?)
  3. yahoo do not operate a money transfer system as you describe so if you continue with this idea you risk loosing a lot more than your money the best idea is to cease all contact with this vendor/operator and be a bit more cautious with future vendors
  4. Let me guess...this car was listed in your local ads that are not located in Spain...but, this car magically appeared in Spain? Does that not strike you as fishy? Wow.
  5. There is no such thing as "Yahoo! Finance" when it comes to vehicle purchases. It does not exist. The person you are dealing with is a fraudster and a scammer. They have "advertised" a car they do not own at a ridiculously cheap price, in order to sucker someone in to sending them their money. If you do send any money, you will lose it. All of it. Permanently. This scam has been going on for so long, I'm amazed that there are still people who haven't heard of it and that they are still falling for it!!
