Indians are trained to have inferiority complex?

by inferiority complex, i mean relative to anything the West or white people do. they don't seem to have inferiority complex vis a vis africans or southeast asians - they behave arrogantly with these ppl. but westerners, and arabs, yes Indians definitely feel and act as they are inferior to them. much has to do with 1000 yrs of subjugation by both arabs and whites, but it's been 60 yrs since independence and still nothing has changed. the complex vis a vis arabs is also seen in hindu-muslim relations in India. any muslim who acts, behaves, or claims that he's an arab is given a lot of respect and admiration by both hindus and other muslims. it is seen that marrying an arab is a status symbol amongst indian muslims, and claiming descent from arabs is a big thing. likewise marrying a white (mostly man) is seen as moving up in this world by hindus. possibly the effects of subjugation are taking a long time to be erased and diminished. contrast this with other former subjects around the world. Africans have long shed their inferiority complex vs the West and are now respected worldwide for it. the fact that RSA hosted the fifa world cup is a sign of this, and things will keep moving in that direction. southeast asians shed their complex when they became tiger economies, and the ASEAN group as is much abt regional harmony as about standing up to the West. in fact, ASEAN is the world's strongest group of 'small' nations. it is next to EU in power. most other former subjects have also overcome colonization in their own ways. only Indians, a disparate group of tribes living in a geographic area, numbering 1 billion, are yet to get rid of the baggage. a famous African man remarked that "Indians are socialized to appreciate and have affinity towards their former oppressors". well said! now India is being used by the West as a bulwark to China, and will soon be forced to fight a suicidal war with China...which will destroy India completely. maybe after the destruction, the few Indians that're left will wake up and shed their complex... correction - famous African man said "Indians are the ONLY group of people who are socialized to appreciate and have affinity towards their former oppressors"! also, I am Indian origin, so no accusations of ignorance/being an outsider.

1. All the people from India that I know who live in the US have no such complex. I am mentoring a very brilliant young Indian in Law School here and he is confident but not cocky.

5. This is AD 2010. India is still under occupation by a colonizing european- italian; many population of India do not even realise this fact. Indians lack self-esteem. In place of self-esteem, they have inferiority complex. There are enlightened people even in Y/A, who say they are ruled by one of the most honest primeministers presently, even after the latest news says the Congress Bureau of Investigation informs the court that rioter, killer of sikhs and looters of their properties jagdish tytler and co are innocent and the bribed judiciary is going to shut its eyes, ears and mouth, exemplifying mohandas GANDHI's three monkeys. At this point of time, Star Plus channel is airing a song competition programme, with children from india and Pakisan participating. This is no different from LTTE, LeT like terrorist organisations, creating terror with chidren as human-shields, stone-throwers and fighters, when the 26/11 Mumbai attackers are yet to be finally put under gallows. Those who are responsible for this situation are also responsible for indians suffering from or enjoying inferiority complex.

7. You have raised a very good question dear. Actually inferiority is embedded in people of the great republic of India. And this inferiority can be seen everywhere in this country. Like if somebody doesn't know English thinks of himself as inferior to the one who knows English and the fault is not only his but Indians society at large. We(excluding me) respect those who ape the west blindly and that's too for wrong things. Similarly wearing typical western cloths, aping western culture, joining Facebook(I'll talk about it later in my answer) in large nos., etc are all signs of Indians' inferiority complex. Actually the thing is Indians have no brains of their own and they always need some role-model (I think role-model country or role-model race would be better term). For example we(excluding me) keep on aping west without thinking for a moment that why should I/We do it. Like how should we build our cities like, answer will be like Paris, Singapore, Shanghai etc. How should we run our civic administration, answer will be like the US and UK do, how should we do this or that and answer will be some western(or far eastern) country or city. I mean it's basic sense that all manholes must be covered, roads should be properly paved, electricity must be available 24 hours (by the way there was no electricity in my area today for 9 continuous hours), public transport buses must not allow more people to hop in after a certain no. etc. Now Facebook is the latest example of Americans' superiority and Indians' inferiority. I don't find any single reason to join that site. I'm not advertising Orkut here because both are american products, but I just want to tell how inferior Indians are that they'll imitate whatever Americans do. Had Orkut or for that mater any other site been popular in US, these inferior people would have joined that site. Will you Indians(especially the English supporting breed) ever learn to have your own thinking? I've nothing against Facebook, but why should I join that? Just because Indians' masters are there, that's why? Very often, reasons are given in favor of English language in India and the dog paper नभाटा was quick to publish that how a company is Japan telling its employees to learn English or no jobs. But the same dogs never reported that to get admission in Japanese universities and institutes(which are world class) one needs to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test(JLPT) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Language_Proficiency_Test) And the reason why JLPT was introduced was growing demand from international students for standardized Japanese language test. The dogs will further be amazed that China and Korea (the two other respectable countries of Asia have similar tests). India often like to compare itself with China and Japan to make this century Asian century. But the truth is India can never make this happen. We are often told that India must do this and that like developed countries because we are now a major country so we must behave like them. So almost all developed countries require you pass their respective languages test to take admission in their colleges. This is how major countries behave. Huh.. on the contrary, India is introducing the language of slavery proficiency test. And despite providing higher education in English in those 3rd class universities, more American students prefer China for higher education, despite language barrier, because this is not language that attracts the american students to China but the level of courses taught. I've often noticed that Indians believe that just by providing anything in English it'll become international and nothing can be farther from the truth. To be a truly international product, it must be in multiple languages. Not only all major websites are multilingual but even the programming languages were modified to accommodate internationalization. So Indians have assumed that just by running 3rd class courses in those 3rd class universities our 3rd rate universities and websites will go international. BOTTOMLINE IS INDIA RANKS NOWHERE ON THOSE PARAMATERS WHICH ARE REQUIRED TO PROVE THAT INDIA IS BEHAVING LIKE A MAJOR COUNTRY.
8. Britishers tried to eradicate the ancient heritage of India. They succeeded partially. With their departure our cultural values should have been reinstated. This was not done as our First prime minister was last of the englishman. So 17 years were wasted. His Daughter who did not have the guts to accept the name of muslim gentleman she married could not do good to either Hindus or Muslims.Self respect comes when you know your culture is superior to all others in the world .This is not done even now. So where is the nationa pride? Post independent break of discipline by the parlimentarian has added to the woe. Worst of all acorrupt nation is always inferior.

This seems to be a case of gross misinformation and generalization.Get your facts straight.You have to be an Indian to understand this or know the culture.Don't form an opinion based on hearsay.Study the culture and then make a statement.And mind you,it wont be easy coz our culture is 2.5thousand year old.History of India is not just history of British occupation of India.
