is there an organization that promotes buying products made in your own country?
Done it make sense to keep buying products from companies that have sent most of their jobs outside your own country? Most of us are upset over the massive job losses and yet we caused it by buying products made or grown in some far off place? How do we force the manufaturing of products made in our own country? Do you think the Chinese, people of India, or Vietnam, are buying clothes and shoes or ANYTHING made in North America, the UK or Australia? Are we just so stupid that we will keep buying products made in places that out our own families out of work? How is this going to be stopped? I wonder why no polical leaders advocates stoppp[ing or restricting imported products when so much money is being paid out to the unemployed and so much money has to be borrowed from other countries.

- Yes, most unions try to encourage their members, and the general public to buy the products your neighbours help to make. Sadly most people like to shop at Wall Mart, and don't care about buying local until their jobs are exported to a lower wage country.
- Yes, usually your own governments encourage people to buy products made in their country. Unfortunately, as the other poster said, why pay more for products made in your country when you can get it cheaper in large retail stores who import stuff from countries for next to nothing. Not to worry, though. As these countries, China and India, are quickly becoming prosperous, their own citizens will start buying more of their own products, which will increase the prices of these products in western countries. Within ten years or less, a pair of sandals at Walmart will cost the same as a pair of sandals at Sears. At that point, people in the west will start buying more of western products.

Well there are many things that you can do. First and foremost always try to buy American Made Products.
