Is this why many Americans are jobless?

Lets say John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 a.m. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN PHILIPPINES ) . He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA ), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE IN VIETNAM). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA ), then he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA ), he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia ) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA ), John decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE ) and turned on his TV (MADE IN KOREA ), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA . AND NOW HE'S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM HIS PRESIDENT (MADE IN KENYA )

  1. I think you have something there. . . . . . .
  2. Nice Job=)
  3. That's good! An 'eye opener'.
  4. Moreover, I ate at a restaurant today. My food was prepared by a cook (MADE IN MEXICO), my table was served by a waiter (MADE IN MEXICO), and my dishes were cleaned by a dishwasher (MADE IN MEXICO).
  5. You were on to something until the last sentence blew it for you.
  6. Good one
  7. YOU NAILED IT! We MUST reduce our imports and make things here again, to bring back jobs. The successful countries, like Germany, Sweden, and Norway, have a trade surplus. They export more than they import. The countries that are going broke, like Greece, Portugal, Spain, and Italy, have a trade deficit. They import more than they export. The USA has a trade deficit, to the tune of A TRILLION DOLLARS A YEAR. That's how much money leaves the USA and doesn't come back. And it takes all those jobs with it. THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
  8. No The USA Economy is like a windshield, and China is still just a bug USA GDP = $14.3T China GDP = $3.95T EDIT: That's not to say we don't need to entice and attract more manufacturing - because we do !
  9. Honestly..... I was completely and totally with you, until the very last line. I was going to give you a standing ovation, because 99% of what you said I agree with. I guess I can take 99%, ....everyone is at least 1% crazy.
  10. No.
  11. Oh, wow, this is amazing! :D Really, I've known most of the US's stuff is foreign made, but listing it out like this is a real eye-opener! The last bit was unexpected... XD
  12. I think its funny when you see Republican politicians cry and whine about how Americans don't buy American anymore. We don't, know why??? Because alot of American made stuff sucks, thats why. And its the truth, so either they shut up, or they start kicking those Mega Rich types in the ass to make some decent stuff for a change, which they probably won't do since its those types who give them so much money in the first place
  13. point well made two extra points for the shot at prez.
  14. yea, sounds pretty accurate, we outsource way too much. However if e didn't have such a high minimum wage it might help.
