What are investment banks' opinions on government's interference with Commercial banks' investment activities?

Does anyone work in the industry? What are some of the investment banks' general opinions on government's interference/regulations with Commercial banks' investment activities?

1. What interference? The industry's lobbyist's have effectively gutted the regulation of everything that is of real concern to the industry. If you listen real closely what you hear from the industry is a defining silence -- proof positive that the industry is unofficially okay with what will pass. Your other clue is who is doing what with which media outlet: their second string is out in moderate force whining just enough so that the public will think that Wall Street is all upset...if the public thinks WS is upset; they will assume the law is "punishing" WS and they won't look into the details to see that, once again, WS has actually written the law in question.
