How do I remove the previous searches that pop up when I am on the Yahoo finance page?

When I am on the Yahoo finance page and type in a letter in the web search area all my prior searches pop up. How do I delete them?

1. One thing I did was go to Tools> Internet Options and on browsing history, checked the box that cleared history every time I closed the browser. (I have Vista). Depending on your browser, depends on how you accomplish this. But it seems to be that basic idea.
