It's a sad tale of the current economy, you be the judge?
"Ponder this during the current economic crisis" AIN'T IT THE TRUTH !! Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA ), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA ) After cooking his breakfast in his new electric frying pan (MADE IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA ) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS (FROM SAUDI ARABIA) and continued his search for a good paying job. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE ) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA ), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in Britain

- So very true.
- Why is this a sad tale? Global trade is the only way.
- This also brings up the question... why do so many immigrants search for jobs in the United States? As this is true for the U.S. of A. as well. Good stuff.
- Ha ha very true,,
- I know this is supposed to be funny, but... People want jobs in their country AND to be paid really well for them. However, the same people buy stocks and mutual funds that invest in companies and expect returns on their investment. The board and management of those companies are under pressure to provide owner equity, which means big revenue, and low cost. So, they can't possibly employee the workers that want the high wages, and return profit. So, they go over sea where the ecomonies are lower. Then the same people that created the situation complain about it. Auto Industry is a great example. Workers want to be paid all this money for very little work. The prices of cars are ridiculous, but what's the company going to do. They make them expensive so they can make billions of dollars and return money to the shareholders..
- so very true , the corporations have out sourced all the good paying jobs in the intrest of profit , it just a nother form of how slavery is still alive and well
- lol Greybeard, very true, I have forwarded this to Gordon Brown as he is obviously not aware of these things.
- LOL very unexpected...i liked! a star 4 u! :D
- LOL Very good question, creative humorous and TRUE Tony B_liar ( the man who allowed the UK to be conned into a war in Iraq which as we all know now was to protect Israel) B_liar also allowed British manufacturing to run down in favour of financial services.
