Why do people blame Bush for the economy?
I doubt an Obama sheep will actually READ this, but it makes one wonder why people buy this stuff then blame Bush for not buying American. So why blame Bush that the economy is tanking? Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet(MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE.! .France!!) and turned on his TV(MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in.. AMERICA,,,

- Because he campaigned, as McCain has done, by saying he'd fix the economy. he assumed the responsibility.
- Ok so I read it simply because of your "obama sheep" remark... Who else is to blame...he was after all the prez.
- He's all to blame.
- Perhaps because he's the President maybe?
- Yep. And Bill Clinton was the one that let all of the jobs go out of the country, not Bush.

- ever since he started this BS war the prices of gas went up. From there is when everything got bad. You know what happens when the cost of transportation goes up. Less spending period. Now after awhile of this people try to cut back, of course a lot of other factors are to blame.
- 8 years of Bush, where the buck stopped (and all sanity)
- Clearly they don't realize that this is all Congress's job.
- He is the President, not a dictator. He needs cooperation in order to move his economic policies. He warned congress about mortgages, they didn't listen. As long as people keep blaming the President for everything (this includes Dem Presidents) they won't focus on the real problem, congress.
- Maybe because all those things made in China and Korea etc.. are made there because Bush gives tax breaks to companies who ship jobs overseas and has done nothing to stop that. Maybe because he started a war that is costing us billions and is trying to rebuild a country that is in the gutter when his own country is failing and still stands behind spending all this money when they have a surplus. Maybe because he is friends with the Saudi's and has nice little dinners with them and so buys oil from them. All while hurrying the Bin Laden family out of the country (oh because he is friends with them too) after 9-11 so they wouldn't be attacked.
- people like having someone to blame when something goes wrong. so why not blame the person who has a lot of power?? seems logical. . .
- Uh maybe he is blamed because he is the President and after all he has pretty much set the de-regluatory tone for the last 8 years!!!! Whaddya think?
- Because Bush shouldn't have spent so much, and should have kept money aside for the downturn that we all knew would come eventually. And shouldn't have built up debt so much, and put more regulation on lending.
- where have you been, McCain, Bush and the Republicans all voted for tax cuts for companies that ship our jobs to other countries, its "free market" concepts that have left Joe without a job in the first place. Democrats vote for tax cuts for companies that stay in America.
- Oh i don't know cause he's been in charge of the economy for the last 8 years, and the people he has appointed to run the economy. What are you FU*&^%% Stupid
- Because Reaganomics doesn't work except to benefit the people at the very top while giving the shaft to everyone else. Add to that 10 billion a month to Iraq for a war that he was determined to start at any cost. As for your examples, how many of these items were made by so-called American companies that have outsourced all their manufacturing? I am not an Obama sheep, just opposed to the feudal lord/serf system that the GOP & fatcats seem to want.
- Bush borrowed trillions of dollars from china to pay for a war in Iraq. That nullifies everything you just said. Maybe the problem isn't that people should be buying American goods... Maybe we should be making better goods and finding cheaper ways to do it. Its called capitalism isn't that what you neocons have been fighting for this whole time? Maybe instead of boycotting places like china we should boycott places like macys who sells rediculously priced cotton and other crap and only pay their workers minimum wage.
- He created global warming, created "Evil countries". The worst Hurricane to hit the US. He forced People to take bad loans. Apparently he invented AIDs and cancer too... OK, OK... Grant a complete tax exemption for prepaid or college tuition savings plans. 20. Reduced H1B visas from a high of 195,000 per year to 66,000 per year. Character & Conduct as President 1. Changed the tone in the White House, restoring HONOR and DIGNITY to the presidency. 2. Has reintroduced the mention of God and faith into public discourse. 3. Handled himself with enormous courage, dignity, grace, determination, and leadership in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 hijackings and anthrax attacks. He almost single-handedly held this country together during those searing days: Just three days after the attacks, in his address at the National Cathedral, the President reassured the nation when he said: "War has been waged against us by stealth and deceit and murder. This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others. It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing." On Friday, September 14, 2001, President Bush visited Ground Zero. Standing on a crushed and burned fire engine atop the smoldering pile at Ground Zero, he put his arm around a retired firefighter who had volunteered to help, and began speaking to the crowd. Rescue workers shouted that they could not hear him. Someone handed him a small American flag and bullhorn. The President spontaneously shouted: "I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon." The crowd roared with cheers and chants of "USA! USA! USA!" Then he raised that American flag and rallied a nation. Education & Employment Training 1. Signed the No Child Left Behind Act, delivering the most dramatic education reforms in a generation (challenging the soft bigotry of low expectations). The very liberal California Teachers union is currently running radio ads against the accountability provisions of this Act. 2. Announced "Jobs for the 21st Century," a comprehensive plan to bette
- Bush doesn't hold complete responsibility. He definitely added to the problem though.
- Because too many people do not research facts, know how the government and economy works and don;t know history. Companies move overseas for cheaper labor to keep prices down because the American consumer wants low prices but as workers want high wages which means higher prices. Tax breaks for companies moving overseas is done by Congress who writes the laaws which includes tax laws; NAFTA and other free trade agreements often have those things included and Congress approved then followed by President Clinton signing NAFTA and other evening out trade agreements which were law when President Bush took office. Since the Democrats cannot blame President Clinton or the Democratic Congress they blame the President leaving uninformed people to blame President Bush. Congress cries about raising the minimum wage and the "living wage" crycomes from liberals but raising labor costs means prices increase and the companies then move overseas to keep prices down, seel more of their product and make a profit. The making a profit is important since if they don;t people don't invest in them, their stock drops and they go out of business which means the investment money including 401k goes under. The President can do little to either help or hurt the economy until things start going bad and even then it is more morale and getting people's confidence up then actually helping or hurting the economy; the only thing government really does that has a huge impact on the economy is taxes and the US has fairly low personal income taxes overall but extremely high business taxes to make up for the low income tax rate. The average American still pays more but since it is disguised in the price of a product they don;t see it as additioal taxes they pay. The real bottom line is that the current financial crisis is more about things done before President Bush took office and now catching up with us and more about Congressional actions then his but it is politically expediant to blame President Bush to get Sen Obama elected then it is to be honest.
