Your Open QuestionShow me another ยป Where are all of the American jobs? Mostly looking for comments as to what people think as far as how true this little story is: Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 a.m. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day, Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his robe (Made in PAKISTAN) Slippers (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), Then his DVD Player (Made in CHINA), Took out a movie (Made in JAPAN), made some microwave (Made in THAILAND) popcorn (Made in TAIWAN) and then wondered why he and everyone else can't find any jobs in.....AMERICA

  1. It is cheaper that way. Apparently we Americans are to expensive.
  2. America is in a recession. Americans are also rather lazy. Americans can afford to buy from other countries and let poor Chinese and Thai people do their dirty work.
  3. well so called american companies like to outsource their jobs so the people at the top can make more money. its like if your shipping jobs out of country you are not american. Lots of things are made around the world because labor there is cheap and people can exploit child labor to save us people in the usa money. it sux and we should put a stop it.
  4. Approx. one in ten is directly or indirectly related to the American auto industry, and I believe I read that three of the remaining nine is working for the U.S. government. That is why the money for the Big 3 needs to happen now!
  5. i think you've pretty much answered it. They're all outsourced
  6. At Wally World.....aka "ChinaMart"........ WalMart IS the largest employer in the USA.....really...... Someone has to sell all this foreign made junk to the American consumer.......which means low paying service jobs, and little to no benefits....no rights.....slave labor for us all.

I soon got myself going down the true path, and in a couple of weeks after a couple of interviews I scored a really excellent job.
