What did you do to-day anything like Joe Smith ?

Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with gas (FROM SAUDI ARABIA) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA.

  1. I think this is a huge problem in this country. We go for the cheaper things instead of the home made things. Too bad we can't make things for less money and much better quality than other countries. But I guess you have a price to pay for freedom. OOPS I forgot to answer the question again. I don't want a V. LOL I guess I did about the same thing, except I do have more " made in U.S.A."
  2. I TRY TO BUY AMERICAN BUT IT ISN'T EASY.
  3. I used this same answer for another question several weeks ago - - If this weren't so sad, it would be funny. This a becoming a huge problem here.
  4. The only things made in this country are babies, debt, and excuses why the country's going to hell!
  5. Suzie - this is true and oh! so sad. I make a point of not buying anything made in China (because of their child labor laws), and most of my clothes are made in the USA - I buy Citi Knits and they are made right here. But I also know that part so my car - a Chevy - are made in India, Korea and other places I cannot pronounce! Thanks for the reminder - - - I guess I did start my day a little like Mr. Smith. Have a star! CJ
  6. Boy that is the truth
  7. This is so sad...what happened to our honor and pride. This country is already in the toilet thanks to our politicians who allow out sourcing, importing for cheap labor and selling our corporations to other nations to mention a few disasters. I don't believe our Government is working for us at all. They are to self absorbed and greedy. I'm just waiting for them to flush us down the toilet now that we're in there. I don't know who is really running this country, it's seems very Anti-American to me. And there is a word for that. We used to be honored and respected and for good reason, we were proud of our country and what we did. We stood for integrity and honesty. Call me cynical but I've been watching this country disintegrate since the 50's with absolutely no one nipping it in the bud. To blind to see or deliberately contributing to it. It certainly makes me wonder.
  8. you know susie, almost nothing is manufactured in the USA that sells to mass market. it is so very sad. i do look for 'made in USA' tags and was shocked when i found socks made in Ohio(?) i bought a bunch of them. my beer has been sold out of the country, but there is still good stuff here...Sam Adams, Fat Tire. by the way do you think this answer has TOO MUCH punctuation?
