  1. Inian money are called Rupees, and here are a few websites about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_rupees and http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html
  2. Hello Maya, When you will be going to india ion indian airport you can find money exchange counter where you can exchange your money. £10= 700 Indian rupees India is cheap to buy lot of stuff excluding electronics. Make an habit to bargain in Indian market.... Talk to your relatives they explain you alot
  3. indian money is rupee and exchange rate with lb is close to 80. However get your money converted in Rupee at airport and then use that only. Very few places accept forex as they need special licence.
  4. on average £10= 775.indian rupees,£100 =7.775.rupees,at todays rate.don't exchange at the airport, you will get ripped off, wait till you et to resort, better exchange rate.most shops exchange money, but ask rate before doin deal..hope this helps..have a lovely time..we will be there new years day...have fun..
  5. Nothing much to learn. Its about Rs.73 to £1 which means that £10 will be Rs.730. Look in the papers or on the internet in Finance to find out what the rate is. Its very easy and you will soon pick it up. Things are more expensive in India now than they used to be but you get your money's worth over there not like here in the UK> If you need to exchange money do it at the Bank but you will have to produce your passport and you may (not sure) have to pay a small fee. Learn to bargain by going rock bottom and when they refuse keep going slightly higher. Stick to one price once you know you do not want to pay more...walk away..and they will call you back if the amount is ok. Of course you cannot bargain so much in the large shops( but it is still possible at times to a certain extent ) but in the market places you certainly can. You did not say which part of India you were going to as it varies from one place to another. Have fun and go now between end of Oct to March and you will love the temperature.
