  1. Some do, some don't. It all depends on whether or not a certain tribe was able to get land appropriated to them from the government, and then win approval to open a casino. If their tribe wasn't one that was able to win the approval, or they just didn't try for it, then no they usually don't get any of the money.
  2. You know they do....
  3. well, the tribe near me each person gets a monthly Prediem of $15,000 and they have a tiny casino.....so make you own guess based on that.
  4. Tribal land is sovereign. The land was not free nor was it given to us. The land was ours from the beginning and we KEPT it. We paid dearly for it with lives and the rest of the land we were unable to keep. Tribes that have casinos are able to do so 1) because they're sovereign nations and can do what they wish and 2) they have made "compacts" with the state agreeing to pay the state dividends based on the number of machines, revenue, etc. This way both the tribe and the state make money from gaming. Tribes usually work with gaming corporations (Harrah's, etc.) to set up their casinos. The corporations also get a cut. Some tribes (after paying the state, corporations, employees, bills, etc.) do make a profit. However, most gaming tribes only make enough money to keep the operation going and to put money back into the tribal government. Individual Native people who are enrolled in gaming tribes rarely get per capita payments from their tribe's gaming enterprises.
  5. Indian casinos have the highest operational margins of all. And the winnings are shared by the tribal members based on various factors such as precent of tribal bloodline relationship and particitpation. They own the land, through tribal treaties, and apply to the government to start up casinos. Here is a link to a page that explains it all for you. http://www.thedoverpro.com/casino-insider/indian-casinos.htm
  6. Native Americans operate only 3% of gaming activities. "White" Casinos make up 97%. That doesn't even count racing or other betting. Where does all that money go? I hear you people get $15,000 - $30.000 a month from those all that gambling. WTH are people complaining about? .
