Does the Government of India allow foreigner national 2 gift a substantial amount of money 2 Indian national?
Does the Government of India allow a foreigner national to gift a substantial amount of money to an Indian national, who is not his relative? And in this case is the amount exempted from taxes in the money transfer transiction to India (from a bank account to the other)?

- If the amount is big anything can be done in India irrespective of which party is in power.
- One can receive any amount of money from any foreign national with the permission of the Reserve Bank of India and the money should be accounted for .If it is gift from a person not related to the recipient, it is taxable .money received from relatives living abroad is not taxable on receipt .But income derived from investment of that money would e taxable .
