Why do people not realize how the media is manipulating them?

It's got nothing to do with left vs. right. Left vs. right is a false paradigm, and a manufactured controversy designed to divide us amongst ourselves. As of two weeks ago, we are at war. Not with any nation-state, for all nation-states are the enemy of our enemy - which is a cabal of fascist, globalist, neo-feudalist international financiers. Their goal is to destroy the real, physical economy of the US and other nations through financial speculation, war, and fiscal austerity. Their end objective is to divide and conquer nations, to impoverish the public, and to reduce the world's population by billions in order to usher in a new era of global feudalism. Those expressing unwarranted hate for liberals or conservatives are being had. This is not a conflict between liberalism and conservatism, it is a conflict between civilization and fascism, with President Obama finally firing the opening salvo against the fascists not long ago. Among the notable events surrounding this conflict thus far: - Obama's snub of fascist and neo-feudalist Gordon Brown. - His termination of the "special relationship" between the UK and US, which was really an institution of neo-imperialism. - His speech today, in which he said: "This crisis is a result of reckless speculation and spending beyond our means; on bad credit and inflated home prices and overleveraged banks. Such activity isn’t the creation of lasting wealth, it’s the illusion of prosperity, and it hurts us all in the end." - His plans to rebuild the US physical economy from the ground up - not through and by inflating a new speculative bubble (much to the consternation of Fuhrer Pelosi), but by real investment in fixed capital. - Sec. Clinton's visits to Russia, India and China to rally support for civilization, and with whom we find ourselves allied with against the genocidal imperialists on Wall Street, in the City, and which comprise the British government. Indeed, civilization itself is at stake. Will people wake up now, at long last? How can they not see how they're being manipulated?

3. honestly, i think advertising has a lot to do with it. everywhere a person turns these days there is a form of advertising assaulting them. this numbs the person down and makes them more susceptible.

People want to believe in something, and the media gives them something to believe in, whether left, right, Democrat, Republican, Independent, God, no god, evolution, no evolution, the great Hump- Backed whale, Flipper, Lady and the Tramp, Forrest Gump, the Hobbits, Harry Potter, Rich Man Poor Man, As the World Turns, All My Children, the Magnificent Seven, etc., etc., etc. I know the media is manipulative; sometimes positive sometimes negative--depending upon which way the "wind" is blowing. After 67 years of living, quite a few of which were spent believing that everyone is equal, and that everyone has the opportunity to succeed, I no longer put any credence in what I read in the newspapers, magazines, nor in television personalities such as Oprah Winfrey. I still read and watch. I have a "duty" to; but. make no mistake there are groups of people who would sell their country and their soul for just a tiny bit of fame/recognition.

I think lots of people are just to lazy to really find out what is going on. teens watch shows that promote the lifestyle of "do what you want with no consequences". shows like sweet 16, and bad girl make it seem like you can have anything you want if your mean and evil, and other people are just here for your well being. They take things at face value. I think it is more of somebody pissing on their faces and telling them it is raining. people need to stop and think, and use some of the old adages, believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.
