Why is music so bad now?

Examples of Horrible Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mVEGfH4s5g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwhHZwQ5rPg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6zdhHLvT7k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gvcpb4_7ZQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-23EToh43M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXLkt-gaXhU&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZpX3Y6CN3A&feature=related I feel like my ear freaking bleed everytime I listen to the radio and my eyes burn everytime I watch TV because I see another wack-half-azz song by a generic wack-azz artist. I'm so tried of the music industry. I pissed that some of my favorite artists are getting their work shitted on...M.I.A, i'm so upset how they sampled her in the "Swagger Like Us" song...It's more worst when Kanye West sample Daft Punk on Stronger Faster Harder....I grew to like the song but I still don't like the whole idea of it....why does every song need a damn remix to it?It hate that and I hate that gremlin Lil'Wanye, he's the epotiome of Black ignorance, listen to a couple of his songs and interviews and you'll dislike that minstrel too. There's nothing good to listen to anymore.People don't care about the lyrics and relevance of music anymore. What happen to the Lauryen Hill, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Common, etc. and people who make real music... 1. Here is good music! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTfbCOPApsQ
  2. Oh, please. People have complained about music forever...and they've claimed that it was 'bad' and corrupted the youth. Even back in the 1700s, there were some who thought some of Mozart's operas were "vulgar" simply because it wasn't church music. In 1913, the premier of Stavinsky's "The Rites of Spring" caused rioting in the theatre that extended into the streets of Paris! There have been several musical forms that had its detractors: the waltz, tango (music and dance), ragtime, blues, cabaret, jazz, rock and roll, heavy metal, "glam rock", punk and hip-hop/rap. People decried Frank Sinatra and the rest of the 'Rat Pack', Elvis, The Beatles, Jim Morrison and others....and now they're considered "good music." One shouldn't let the music industry dictate to them what is good or not, but at the same time people should keep an open mind and learn to have an appreciation for all forms of music. Each to their own where music is concerned. "Real" music is in the ear of the listener.
  3. It's because record companies take people for suckers and sign untalented nobodies primarily on the factor of sex appeal (remember sex sells) and make them sing badly written poorly thought out crap which is then digitally altered five billion times (I'm exaggerating but you get the point). If you want proof they've got no talent view videos of Rihanna and Metro Station live on YouTube to get what I mean. They can't sing. They're just there to look good and reel in the cash. That's why I've quit listening to the radio and switched to the underground music scene. Maybe you should too.
  4. It seems my parents were asking that same question when I brought home a Doors album. I do listen to music, a lot of the stuff my kids like, but I haven't a clue as to who the groups are, nor do I care. Obla de...ain't it funny how life goes on. Mostly I listen to NPR. My own CD collection is heavy on Irish and bluegrass stuff, which is what I enjoy playing on my guitar.
  5. cause you have BAD taste =)
  6. lol, there is nothing wrong with the music that you said is bad, it is pop music of this particular generation. your taste in music has either matured or your examples simply don't appeal to you, it happens over time. the musicians that you like get "crapped on" because they don't appeal to younger people who buy music every week. if you think your parents thought that "on and on" ,"ms.fat booty" , and other songs by artist that you mentioned was better than the four tops, temptations, or al green then you are crazy. i will agree that listening to artist like soulja boy do make your i.q. drop five points per second whether in a song or interview, but every generation has it's clown, and your generation isn't of the exception. with mp3 players so accessible you can listen to whatever you want when ever you want, including your neosoul artist. eventually you will become a "radio talk show" listener, and not know what new music is anymore.
  7. I like some of those songs...so its bad music to YOU! but not to EVERYONE. beauty is in the eye of the beholder right? same goes for music.
