Do you think our petroleum products sold in INDIA should be without any profit to the government?

Well...I believe that in INDIA we import petrol from other countries and the government is actually taking care of this import business. But i feel the government is just making profit out of it and it's in no way doing a service to INDIA.... Do u guys believe in my view or you think the government is right in its business???????

  1. It is important that the government collect a tax on all revenues, because that allows it to continue to find new sources of revenue. If the government facilitates the importation by arranging the trade deals, negotiating prices, protecting the traders, and providing infrastructure for the transportation and distribution of product, then of course they should get a cut. Otherwise they will have no incentive to continue facilitating trade, then nobody will have money.
  2. yea they have to sell hotdogs now..............
  3. You seem to have a total misconception of how a government functions. As it is the oil companies are making huge losses on account of the subsidies. You perhaps would argue that on that part of the oil that the government gets from its own wells, petroleum products should be distributed free of cost to the people.Extending this to other items like thermal power and hydel-power you would want free power because coal is freely mined by the government and hydel-power is generated from rivers which flow freely in the country.
