Why can't the USA make a $2500.00 Car? Like India or like the other country's?

I would like to see India or the other counrty's out there sell a car to Canada at that price, would you?

Public Comments

  1. By the time the dealerships got through with it, they would have us paying around $7,500.00 for the car.
  2. Because most Americans don't work for $.10 an hour.
  3. India already has a car that runs on compessed air and a lot of their domestic cars go for next nothing. However, that's because if the wind blows too hard, the car is totaled. Safety regs in the United States are far more strict than other countries, especially third world ones. If you want to buy a $2500 new car, have fun in an accident.
  4. we did have one back in the day ! it wascalled the VW Bug, now aday if they sold that car from india here there will be too many drivers on the roads and there will be gridlock accross the country
  5. Imagine being in one of those Nano cars when a Ford Expedition crushes you in that tin coffin.
  6. Because trade unions in this country have driven wages and benefits too high for us to compete with other countries without such unions.
  7. because unions suck the profit and productivity out of any business that lets them in!
  8. Have you seen that car? Its a damn death trap. You will DIE if you get into an accident in that thing. If you get hit by a Civic(much less an SUV) you will die.
  9. Unions wouldn't stand for it.
  10. Probably no labor unions in India, so the employees get a buck or two per day. Get rid of all the unions and cars would be a lot cheaper and workers would work a lot more.
  11. It has nothing to do with labor unions, the people that said that are ignorant. Those vehicle built in India have no air bags or any other safety equipment, they also have no emissions standard to meet.It would be illegal to own that vehicle in the US or Canada.
