how do car manufactorers make sure that cars don't have the same lisence number?
what if a car manufactorer from austrailia made a car with the same liscence plate number that a car from india has? how do they make sure this problem doesn't happen?

- communication and more than likely the license plates look alot alot alot different in diff. countrys.
- Being that the plates look totally different and say where they are from, I dont think it would be a problem. Just like in the US, a plate from Florida and a plate from Wisconsin may have the same number but they have to say it is a FL or WS plate either way when you call it in with the cops, tag agency, etc.
- manufactures have nothing to due with license plates they just provide the v.i.n. number that you give to register the vehicle and get license plates and no 2 cars have the same vin
- God!, What a mess that would be if such a thing would exist. I thought that everybody knew that cars were licensed in the home states of the owners. Same goes for people from France, Austria, England and every other part of the world. The vehicle is licensed where the owner lives.
- lisence number is the job for the dmvand india and austrailia are twn different place with 2 different dmv's. now if your talking about VIN, thats the job of the manufactorers and its done by region where the car is made like if it was made in Japan the VIN would start with J ect. but its the last set of numbers that are important as it being the serial number for the car
- Car manufacturers have no control over license plates. Cars are shipped to the different dealers in different states. When the vehicle is sold, a state agency issues the license plates. In most states, the license plates are made by inmates in the state prisons.
