Why doesn't India renew its nation's fleet of cars?

That's really inconsistent that in a superpower like India, the fleet of cars all over the country remained very old. Why don't get rid of those antiquated british colonial cars like all cabs of Mumbai ? We've got a powerful car industry like Tata which makes now modern cars. So why get stick to these old-fashioned 10,000 year-old cars? That's make the difference with China, which has got a new brand fleet of cars

1. you say "we" like all the hundreds of millions can go buy new cars because you want them to...it takes money...people who have old cars dont drive them buy choice.
