1. No China will likely cough. Pay attention to the olympics in Beijing...
2. Yes, they would have been happier is we had signed the Kyoto treaty and killed out economy that way, while they got a free ride.
3. No more than they are laughing now since Dubya has successfully indebted the US to China to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars in order to pursue his miltary adventure in Mesopotamia.
4. Actually the opposite. They will marvel at America when we develop new technologies, new jobs, and take our financial future back into our control. Watching the Opec lose influence is a bonus.
5. I almost despair of bothering to answer this. How many conservative Republicans are involved in the creation of ethanol from corn? Do you think it's Democrats who are running these plants? There are hundreds of cheap alternative energy sources, like wind, solar, geothermal, that cost relatively little, only the initial setup. And setup for those is a lot cheaper than the cost of building a nuclear reactor! And they don't have the risks, albeit small, of a nuclear reactor. China and India, as one of the other answerers stated, are coughing all the way to the bank. There's even the possibility that the endurance events of the Olympics may have to be cancelled due to air quality in Beijing!
6. China is at the forefront of hydrogen cell technology. The Red Commies are presently constructing thousands of hydrogen stations and have operational vehicles in production. The more ignorant Americans get, the more behinder they get. Germany is embarking on intensive solar cell technology.. they expect to be getting over 20% of their power from Solar cells in 10 years. And the more behinder we get.
7. Dems destroy America? Isn't the deficit $10 trillion? Who did that again? Whose alternative energy idea was Mazzola corn oil as fuel? Even though it cost more to produce than a comparable gallon of gas? Who got the tax breaks? Now was that supposed to be an incentive to create an alternative fuel or a bonus to Oil and Exxon company executives for record profits? I notice that as things go from bad to worse Republicans and Conservatives memories seem to get fuzzier and fuzzier.
8. Reagan became the darling of the conservatives for the collapse of the USSR which was put in motion by Jimmy Carters ban of American athletics from the Moscow Olympics. After the atrocities in China and Tibet will Bush have the guts to do the same?
9. Sooner or later China will develpe and use Alternative Energy. The price of oil in china increase rapidly . Many gas station havent enough oil and set limit to truck.
