whats indian money called?

im doing a project and part of it says that if something costs $AUS26.50 what would it be in indian i worked out it would be 1,037.98 rupees but i have to draw what money i would use. i found pictures for they 1,037 bit but i don't no what they call cents so i cant find the .98 bit what do they call cents? sorry wrong catagory.

  1. They have small denomination coins also aside from paper money like the yen in Japan it all refered to as rupees or yen in Japan.
  2. Indian paper currency is the Rupee and the coins are called Paisa.
