How can Tata ask the British government for money?
to support Jaguar/Land-Rover and then announce that they are going to pump in millions of pounds to support the Ferrari F1 team which is owned by Fiat just because they have a joint venture with them making cars in India. I am sure that it will give British fans of F1 a real feeling of pleasure to see Ferrari winning next season with £500 million of tax payers money indirectly subsidising it. As Terry Wogan would say "is it me" or is it everyone else that is mad?

- Tata can ask 'cos they're cheeky, and Brit government will give the money 'cos they're dumb !! Great to see the old colonial masters being given the run around by one of the former colonies. Perhaps from this Britgov.com will learn their true level in the New World Order. Don't hold yer breath, Brother Brown et all just love jetting around the world and sitting at top table spouting garbage, and will do so until the country is on it's knees and bankrupt. Pompousfarts.com rule !!!
- Tata's got some cheek- They're rich.
- I thought that was the whole point of selling it - so that we wouldn't have to subsidise the industry. We didn't get the profits so the losses aren't our problem either.
- nerve they've no sdoubt heard that the british government is a pushover for immigrants and want to get their share they already got the company at a discount rate but now will use the threat of unemployed brits as a way of screwing money out of the government they should be told no.......
- Oh why not, they gave the banks a goody bag, so why not share out more of our taxpayers money to those that don't really need it.
- There are no British car makers left. Profits go overseas, losses should also be overseas. If the factories close down, so be it, work will be obtained elsewhere.
