- Maybe they all eat fillet of fish and chicken burgers
- If i'm not mistaken, the indian equivalent of the 'Big Mac' is actually made from mutton. I know this coz i was in india a few months ago and the mc donalds menu actually doesn't have much beef on it. Even if it has some, there are indians who eat beef (myself for example).
- Money Money Money
- pa-leeeeeeze! Don't ever underetimate the power of beef! lol
- They use soy paddies. Them or Burger King one dose.... My friend use to work there, there patties are already brown before there cooked. Plant baised pattes are the only ones brown before cooked, meat baised are always whitish or reddish.
- Because beef is a delicious food. Don't miss it. Just eat like hell. Nyum. Soooo delicious.
- Obviously the law in India allows it.
- McDonalds is a responsible and sensible corporation. They give back to the communities that they are located in. They have enough sense to not sell beef in India. I would guess that they have a different type of fast food there. They have McSushi in Japan, I think. Out of all of the multi-national corporations of the world, McDonalds is probably the nicest, most responsible and respectful of any of them. They give fair wages, treat their people with respect, treat the customers with value and integrity and contribute to the communities that they are located in. Wal-Mart sure doesnt do that, what with their sweat shops and slave labor.
- Everybody else's point is well taken, but please remember that Gandhi's India is _not_ a 'Hindu country'. It is a completely secular country where people are free to practise whatever religion they choose. There are 200,000,000 Indians who are not Hindu - this includes Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Zoroastrians (Parsis), Animists and plenty of others. Any of them might be free to eat beef (I can't claim to be an expert on all of those things) and 200 million people ought to be enough to keep McDonald's satisfied :) -------- Sorry, I overlooked my main point - as such, the government would not be in a position to 'allow' or 'not allow' any company to do business on the basis of religious taboos.
- there is non veg more
- Not all from India are Hindu....But my question is WHY do people from India who are Hindu and don't eat meant come here to this USA and buy food a business that sells meats??? Many KFC's and Sonics here where I live are owned by Hindus. I know one young Hindu man who is learning to be a chief and he doesn't eat meat. HOW do they really know how something should taste if they don't eat it?
- I think a better question would be "MacDonalds.......why?"
- Many Indians are Muslim, and they allow the eating of Beef.
- Actually, mc d's patties have only a small percentage of beef. Everything else is just fillers and flavors. It doesn't have to be 100% beef for them to legally call it a beef patty it only has to have 'some' beef in it. Since there's so little actual beef in it, they could easily substitute w/ another meat for those in other countries and none would be the wiser.
- Firstly India has many religions and cultures so it is not wise to call it a Hindu country ( firstly-I hope you are not one of those flag bearers of Hindutva) secondly- i am myself a hindu Brahman) now... and as far as Mc d in India is concerned it doesn't sell any beef products here(proved and testified). India is a country making progress and looking into the future. so to stop mc D's in India just because it makes beef in some other country doesn't make sense. next you will say we should cut off our relationship with countries consuming beef which is sense less. i don't see any harm to the ancient culture and tradition being done here. and then there are beef eating people in india
- the great mc donnald dosent serve Beef in India and due to the large coustmer base they have introduced more veg burgers and other stuff to suit its the Indian clients
