- Skincare products can be extremely confusing and you've to consider several factors before selecting one- not merely on their price, brand or popularity. Products made in India would generally be suited to Indian skin types while those in China for the Chinese skin. Ditto with those made in Europe or US or anywhere else- since their target clientele is locals. However, due to globalization and heavy demand, well reputed brands such as L'Oreal, Drula, Oil of Ulay, Landers etc make skincare products that would suit a larger number of people around the world. Using skin products meant for other skin types will most likely not give you the desired results and even if there are positive results, they will not be optimum and to your satisfaction. This is because the skin pH (acidity/alkalinity) levels, oilyness, pigmentation etc for different skin types varies considerably. Hence, before you use a skincare product, it is advisable to choose one for the specific need you have- such as for skin lightening or moisturising or other purposes AND select from the brand that makes for YOUR skin types. An example is, if Asians such as Chinese used European made sun-tan lotions, they would become very dark brown or even black. But the same used by Europeans will give them a golden color.
- out of all indian companies, i like himalaya. i've seen their products in mustafa and in a cpl of malls, i distinctly remember seeing them on orchid road...i'v also seen them in kl, so i'm guessing they aren't all that hard to find (but don't expect ndian prices!). these products are great because they're very gentle and have a wide range to cater to all sorts of needs.
