VW to make cars in India?

VW emblems on a production line at a Volkswagen plant. Volkswagen, Europe's leading automaker, signed a deal to build a 410-million-euro (539 million US) plant in western India at a site state officials said will become "the Detroit" of India. How will this affect the lives of the people working there? Is this not a feather in the cap for India? Will this affect the quality of the cars? Will they be cheaper due to lower costs? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/29112006/323/photo/vw-emblems-production-line-volkswagen-plant.html 'ithehit' would be better of sticking his nose elsewhere. Iraq, Afghanistan, the Sudan or smelly, stinky, home of all terrorists, exporter of terrorism to the world, murderous Pakistan.

  1. Such a decision will cut the business of the slave traders of the region in the first place. Temporarily of course.
  2. No more questions about India. No one cares about India.
  3. Good news not just for India but also for Germany. More cars of the country will be produced and sold worldwide. The workers will be well paid and improve their standard of living. The quality of the cars should not change if all the same quality control procedures are in place in the Indian factories too. If the cost of manufacturing is down then the savings should be passed on to the customers. Like me.
  4. They have a plant in Shanghai China so what's the difference in building them in India?
  5. It probably won't make much difference to the rest of the world, but will enable VW to sell a large number of cars in India at a reasonable price. India has a very high population, with increasing wealth, and its car market is predicted to grow substantially in the next decade. By building cars there VW hopes to take a significant slice of that market.
  6. its cheaper for the vw group keeps costs down
  7. Only cheaper in manufacturing costs - not to buy for the rest of the world!
