I married to US citizen and got conditional green card based on marriage.?

My wife and her family made my life miserable in the US and ultimately after one year left the house taking away all the jewelry. As I was working at one of her uncle’s firm and lost the that job too. I came back to India to my own house. She has filed annulment of marriage based on fraud, that I married her to get the green card. Being in India I am unable to contact any attorney in the US. Please advice .

  1. sounds like you are screwed......sorry to say
  2. well maybe that is the way you feel but it doesn't sound like there is much you can do.
  3. Yeah this sounds like a really complicated situation...Try to contact an attorney asap. sorry.
  4. Wow. Is there anyway that you can do a search for US law firms, as I am assuming that you have a computer and internet, and pose your questions to them? Just go to yahoo search and plug in US law firms and it should take to a bunch of firms.
  5. Advice for what? You were miserable in the US so you say. She is trying to dissolve the marriage to make it like it never happened...there goes your green card & marriage. Are you wanting to work in the US &/or get citizenship anyway?
  6. Raj, You should have stayed in the U.S. if you wanted to pursue getting the Green card. Since you left and went back to India, this won't look good when the INS reviews your application. Since your wife wants an annulment, if you really want to get the Green card, you must marry another U.S. woman and this time make sure the 2 of you stay together long enough, so that you get the Green card and the citizenship, if you also want that. And hopefully, you will have a loving marriage that lasts forever.
  7. You can contact your US attorney by phone, regular mail, by e-mail.
  8. Well....DID YOU marry her for green card?? This is what happens...Nothing like a woman who is not happy!! or smells deception... U Indian men REALLY follow those Bollywood movies where your marriages r "arranged" and the woman is soooo THANKFUL to have you... But in America honey...the man has to PROVIDE...PLUS u had a job in her Uncles firm?? That hasn't happened since the 50's!! You were swimmen in the ocean & asking for a drink!! I will tell u one thing: I hope u remember...honey w/a woman...u can lounge around in your wifebeater shirt all day drinking beer & eaten chips...but if you are doing it right in the "bedroom" you would still be HERE! Women, especially over 30 just needs a good lover, provider, all the rest can be sussed out. The fact that she wanted an ANNULMENT means you were NOT paying attention to her needs. Sumji??
  9. First of all did u marry someone from ur ethnicity? i.e Indian? If not then you are PERFECTLY screwed sideways. (no doubt about it). If you have an unexpired conditional green card in ur possession now. Then no one can stop you from entering the U.S. Once you are in then you can file a lawsuit against her on the basis that the marriage ain't sham. On the other hand, she threatened you that if you do not pay her she will go to the INS and tell that the marriage was fraud (being legit) to get a green card. I have seen many cases like yours specially Indian fellas marry white and black citizens of the U.S then get screwed most of the time & do end up in a situation like you are in. If you married an Indian lady then there are 100 % chances that you can save your permanent residency. If your lady did file for annulment on the basis of green card fraud then she too will face hefty fines and imprisonment (no kidding) I've represented too many. Give specific details.
