How do we get China and India to sign on to Kyoto accord type agreements?
their arguments are that ...now that they are starting to boom economically and catching up to world powers, they are not going to let world powers who have been polluting for decades to pull the rug out from under them. This might be far fetched, but couldn't all the countries that sign an agreement that china or india do not also sign simply say they wont allow any imports into their countries from those countries? or allow any trade? Even if you are in favor of trade with china as seems to be the vogue these days, don't you think thats the stick we can have to nudge them to get on board withe rest of the world community?

- They are smart not to sign the Kyoto protocol. Bill Clinton wouldn't sign it either...smart move. Global warming is a flawed theory and should be abandoned..
- Its easier said than done.
- You have a better chance to win the lotto tonight than getting them to sign on.
- They are very smart in not signing this. I also believe the USA should stay OUT of any such agreement. I believe the UN has an agenda to tax the entire world to oblivion. I believe we and other countries can and will do this on our own folks. We do NOT need the UN to babysit our every move. This is one way in which to LOOSE OUR SOVEREIGNTY, and believe me, they are trying very very hard to have this come about!!!!!
- flog e'm into doing it.
- They need not sign. American business will not stop polluting because it would hurt there bottom line. So what reason does any nation have to sign.
- China is the biggest polluter in the world. Yes, even bigger than us. The main reason is we have been reducing pollution for decades and China does not care about pollution (yet). They need free press to expose the mess. The Kyoto agreement would be economic suicide for the US as it unjustly targets us. Thank god Al Gore wasn't the president.
- We won't sign it ourselves, how do we go about asking them to sign?
- So in other words, you're willing for no one to trade with us, since we haven't signed it either.
