can buying a put for infy and thus hedge the position of holding stock of infy in NASDAQ? Let me know if i need a income tax card of US (similar to PAN) particularly to buy options.

- If you are an Indian living in India I don't think you can invest in foreign bourses, like CBOE. For this to happen India should have Capital Account convertiility on it's Balance of Payment. I think the government is studying floating rupee and trying to implement captial account convertibility thus. Now the best option to invest in foreign countries is through Mutual Funds which invest there. Fidelty Megallan is here and they invest close to 30% of their corpus in Foreign bourses. There may be many others check it out. Wait otherwise when capital account convertibility materialise for Indians.
