Is this POSSIBLE proof of a faked death?

Reserpine is an indole alkaloid[3] antipsychotic and antihypertensive drug that has been used for the control of high blood pressure and for the relief of psychotic behaviors, although because of the development of better drugs for these purposes and because of its numerous side-effects, it is rarely used today.[1] The antihypertensive actions of Reserpine are a result of its ability to deplete catecholamines (among the others) from peripheral sympathetic nerve endings. These substances are normally involved in controlling heart rate, force of cardiac contraction and peripheral resistance. .[4] Reserpine depletion of monoamine neurotransmitters in the synapses is often cited as evidence to the theory that depletion of the neurotransmitters causes subsequent depression in humans. Moreover, reserpine has a peripheral action in many parts of the body, resulting in a preponderance of the cholinergic part of the nervous system (GI-Tract, smooth muscles vessels). The Reserpine theory: Michael Persinger, a neuroscientist at Laurentian University in Sudbury, ON Canada, developed another miracle-free explanation of the resurrection story. While experimenting on rats, he noted that when the animals were physically restrained and injected with reserpine -- or similar drugs -- their body temperature would decrease rapidly and they would be appear to have died. Three days later, they revived on their own. Presumably, a similar reaction would happen in other mammals. Of course, it would be impossible on ethical grounds to conduct a similar experiment on humans. Persinger speculates that Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) may have consumed either reserpine or a similar drug. This might have happened at the Last Supper, or when he was offered a sponge containing a liquid while on the cross. It is generally acknowledged, at least by some mainline and most liberal theologians, that John the Baptist had been a member of the Essene religious group. There is some evidence that the Essenes used psychoactive drugs in their rituals. Perhaps they had found reserpine, a drug which is has a plant origin. Yeshua certainly was restrained on the cross. The soldiers could have believed that he had died, and released the body, only to have Yeshua spontaneously recover a day and a half later in the tomb. 2,3 http://www.rauwolfia.net/default.asp <- Add Sand Mountain Herbs Shortcut To Your Desktop: Click Here Rauwolfia Scientific Name: Rauwolfia serpentina Common Name: Rauwolfia Other Common Names: Plant Type: Perennial Where To Plant: Full Sun to Partly Shady Soil Types: Average Zones (See US Zone map): 11+ or Greenhouse Germination: Hard Number of Seeds Per Pack: 15 Uses: Medicinal Notes: Famous tranquilizer plant of India. This stuff was around 3000 years ago also in the area. They could build pyramids with no machinery why couldn't they fake death? Jesus also said to question not just follow blindly

  1. you can`t fake death.
  2. How did he fake the ascension? Grace and peace to all.
  3. its sad to see that you are so thoroughly confused by this world and all its lies concerning Christ and his resurection.. Christ is returning soon....
  4. And blood loss? And not copy-pasting junk and calling it a question?
  5. I tried to read that. I didn't. But I'd still like the 2 points. Thanks.
  6. What about the spear through His side?
  7. What it is proof of....is how far some people will go and how much trouble they will take,,,look how long that is..no I didn't read it.......just to try and disprove the existence of someone,,they say they don't believe existed in the first place!! Go figure.
  8. It's all about faith. Will you submit to a demonstration? We have all eternity. Hallelujah!
  9. It's possible, but it's much more likely they just made the whole thing up.
  10. When the romans put you on a cross, you suffocated to death, that is a fact. Everybody is trying to come up with something to deny Christ while at this very moment they are still finding writings in caves around the dead sea. The proof is everywhere, the Bible is true, satan is the liar and the father of it, the Bible says so, Jesus died on a cross for you and me, to wash away our sins. Now if we believe on Him we will be saved by His grace and mercy. For by Grace are ye saved thru Faith, Ephesians 2:8, all we have to do is repent of our sins, confess Jesus as Lord and serve him everyday. Some people just refuse to do so but the consequences of that is terrible, the Bible is the best selling book of all time for a reason, it has Power, it has Life in it, if you believe, if you would like to accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour just pray this prayer believing with all your heart, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you made a decision for Christ or have any questions, Please send me an email, God Bless YOU!!
  11. No - he was really brutally attacked.. as such. Gone through the most horrific of actions - designed to kill him. However he was revived - resucitated. Watch the British documentary "Did Jesus Die?" Which covers much the same ground as the Talmud Jmmanuel material, without reference to the TJ. www.tjresearch.info/overview.htm I have followed up on the TJ material, and it is very interesting indeed. Much better than what you have taken notice of ..
  12. First, Reserpine is an Indian plant, which is a fair distance from Palestine. Second, poppies are not reserpine. Third, Roman soldiers were professionals unlikely to be fooled by such tactics. Fourth, a half dead survivor stujmbling out of the tomb would hardly frighten a whole squad of legionaires away. They would have simply finished the job. Sixth, half dead survivors don't appear through locked doors or walk to boats at sea. Seventh, half dead survivors don't ascend into heaven before witnesses. Sorry, that 'theory' has a few too many holes in it. One more thing. When the spear went through His heart, blood and 'water' flowed out. That means the pericardium AND the heart were punctured, releasing the fluid which had constricted His heart. NOBODY survives an open wound to the heart like that.
  13. The standard answer to the question "is it possible" is "of course--anything is possible." The more pertinent question is "how probable is it." Assuming there is no direct evidence, we are left with circumstantial evidence, which is that we know one fact by what lawyers call competent evidence (evidence that is highly likely or reliable) and that known fact allows us to infer, with a high degree of confidence, the existence of the second fact that is material to our argument. To make your argument probable, you will have to establish the following: (1) the Essenes or some other group in the area of Jerusalem or the Galilee had knowledge of a drug that had these effects; (2) that the specific side effects were known by the group to occur with a high degree of regularity; (3) that the group had access to a naturally occurring substance that produced this drug; (4) that Jesus or a member of his group had access to, or been a member of the group possessing this knowledge and access; (5) that Jesus or a member of his group had access to the substance; (6) the chemical compound would not degrade when introduced into the wine (if administered at the Last Supper) or whatever liquid was in the sponge given to Jesus on the cross (the Bible says vinegar, but that term covers a large variety of substances); and (7) that the amount of the active ingredient was sufficient to induce the effects desired without being toxic (every drug has a toxicity index)--remember this was not being done in a laboratory where compounds can be measured accurately. So far, I haven't seen any evidence for any of these necessary conditions. Then you get to the problem of the broken legs (or lack of broken legs). Remember, crucifixion is a Roman punishment and was carried out by Roman legionaries. While breaking the legs was common, it was not universal, since breaking the legs would hasten the onset of death, which is caused by suffocation. The condemned has to be able to put pressure on his legs to relieve the need for air to breathe; when the pain from the nails through the ankles becomes too great, the condemned would then slump, causing the chest to compress making normal breathing impossible. (The feet of the condemned weren't nailed to foot of the cross, because the nails would tear through the flesh and allow the body to swing freely; the nails were driven through the bones of the ankles, which were broken in the process but served to secure the nails, rather like an anchor bolt secures a screw in wall board.) Your theory, therefore, presumes three conditions you haven't explained: (1) Jesus's legs weren't broken for the specific reason that someone wanted him to survive (as opposed to suffer a lingering death); (2) at least one of the Roman legionaries was in on the plot and deliberately sabotaged the execution (a crime for which he would be crucified); and (3) Jesus would be sufficiently mobile after reviving in the tomb to leave Jerusalem unnoticed, despite having two broken ankles. All of this is purely speculation, and the chance of developing any probative historical evidence after 2000 years is not likely. More important, I'm not sure that it is theologically significant. What the story of Jesus teaches theologically is that G-d is immanent as well as transcendant; that G-d's self-revelation occurrs in human form (metaphorically the face of the stranger is the face of the other and the Other is G-d, as the Jewish philosopher Emmanuel Levinas has written); that salvation is a matter of having proper relationships with G-d and our fellow human beings, characterized by selfless love; and that all who believe in G-d have a duty to work toward the realization of the Kingdom of G-d, when the lion shall lie down with the lamb, when men will beat their swords into plowshares and their knives into pruning hooks, or when people shall be judged by the quality of their lives and not the color of their skin. As a Christian, I believe in the Easter miracle, but I don't think it either proves or disproves the validity of the Christian message, which is about how G-d has ordained for us to live rather than how someone died. The crucifixion of Jesus is important as an example of moral and physical courage and obedience to the will of G-d, which goes to the message of the Faith. That we are resurrected with Christ each day to carry out the mission of realizing that the Kingdom of G-d is at hand and our duty is to contribute to bringing it to fruition is the message of Easter and the Eucharist. The rest doesn't really concern me. Grace be unto you and peace.
  14. Speaking of Jesus' death on the cross, do you know that the spear that entered His side was passed on from generation to generation and was said to possess great healing powers? ...And, that Roman soldier that actually speared Jesus became a Christian?! That Roman soldier had a problem with his eye sight, and when he pierced Jesus' side, the blood and water that came out of His side hit the Roman soldier's eyes and he was instantly cured. I guess I could have supported this with appropriate documentation, but I am anxious to answer. I will try and find the documentation. I know it is there because I have read it from very reliable sources. Regarding the question, if anyone remembers the "Serpent and the Rainbow" it documented how that particular drug mentioned was used in voodoo rituals which actually stops the heart beat to a point that the individual is considered to be dead. But, I do not believe that Jesus' death was faked.
