Any advice on what to name my non-profit business selling handmade jewelry ? I would like some suggestions on what to name my charity business. Here are the points about my business that are important in choosing the name: --100% of profits from all sales will be donated to an eye hospital in south India --jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets) will be made from semiprecious gemstone beads and silver and will be handcrafted by me. Here are the ideas I have so far, but none of them satisfy me. I would like the name to be shorter and catchier. Let me know what you think of these or suggest others! --Pretty Visions Jewelry --Gift of Sight Jewelry

How sure are you that your commodities are from halal sources? This may look lengthly, but it will take you two minutes to read it...Please open your eyes... Many of us point our fingers to Israel and blame them for poverty in the world. We can yell and scream and cry over palestine, but what about Africa, Asia etc.? You know WHY we aren't aware of our damage? Because it's too hard, we don't want to know. Because media rarely advertises it. Just because it isn't popular, it doesn't mean it isn't happening There are so many things that we may be doing that cause the poor to get poorer in other countries: ☞ Farmers in Africa are given poisonous pesticides which can give them cancer amongst other diseases. This is done for the "fresh" fruit and veg we buy from certain supermarkets ☞Women and children are raped in sweatshops. Is it worth it? Certain companies like nike have sweatshops in the poorest countries. The workers have no other choice. Check the lable of your clothes. "Made in India...Pakistan..." --do you seriously think that these people are given fair working conditions? ☞ Jewellery sourced from places like africa are mined by CHILDREN sometimes. Do you know how many diseases those kids could get? Imagine the treatment theyre facing... ☞ Our waste are sent to third world countries. There, women and children are picking and seperating our waste into different categories. This is their daily life. No school, no play...they have to pick out OUR rubbish... ☞ Oil companies have oil spills, gas flaring and pollution. These aren't things to be ignored. It happens. People get diseases and die. They have to get water from places that are sooo far away. http://www.protectthehuman.com/shell (A short video about shell's oil effects) These are just a few of the things that WE cause and contribute to. And you may want to ignore it. WE've become numb because this happens everyday... But we can change....lets become more aware of where our products are going. The Quran says: "You are the best nation that has been raised up for mankind; You enjoin right conduct, forbid evil and believe in Allah. (3:110)" Do have a look into this link: http://www.renaissance.com.pk/Mayviewpoint2y5.htm It's about business... Please, lets stop this cycle of poverty And look into fairtrade and environmentally friendly campaigns and otehr ethical ways of trade. Is it legal to post several thousand pounds worth of jewellery from India to the UK on a tourist visa? I have been approached (in India) to post a rather large amount of jewellery to the UK, on behalf of an Indian jewellery wholesaler. Once in the UK, I would then give him the jewellery. I am being offered money for this. Is this legal? I suspect it's not for him, but I want to be clear. Basically the offer is made because I am on a tourist visa and I am therefore allowed to post a certain amount of jewellery back to the UK tax-free. By getting me to do this, he can avoid taxation. He then sells the jewellery in the UK. Could I face charges in either India or the UK for this? It turned out this is a famous scam in India called the "Agra Gem Scam". Luckily, I didn't take them up on their offer and my credit card is safe and sound.
Could a burkha ban ever be debated in India? just wondering, with all the debate surrounding this in Europe, and with France+UK considering a full ban. since India has arguably the world's largest pop of muslims, and that too outside the muslim world, would such a thing ever be debated? remember that India isn't an islamic country and despite it shouting abt secularism from the rooftops, it's basically a Hindu country at the end of the day. the fact that it's secular owes to its Hindu roots more than anything. no other nation in Asia is as secular, or as tolerant of minorities as India, also given the history. if India were to ever turn islamic, it would be the end of what we know as India. back to the Q, since burkhas are often used by criminals and terrorists in India, it has now become a security threat in public places and buildings. even TV news has revealed that burkhas are good ways to avoid detection and commit crimes. CCTV footage once showed a burkha clad person stuffing jewelry into their robe and escaping from the store. already having so much to deal with, the security forces could afford some help, and in this sense debating a full covering of one's body and face makes sense. there are other options available to muslim women, and it has been pointed out loud and clear many times that the burkha/hijab aren't religious duties and aren't part of the Quran nor Hadiths. someone somewhere made it a rule and the masses stuck to it. if India wants to be progressive and modern, it just doesn't mean that a section of its (non-muslim) women should wear skimpy outfits, it also means that its muslim women shld also show their face in public. a society living in 2 diff eras will never move forward. i wonder, are muslim women allowed to keep burkha on for Indian passport photos? does immigration at airports ask women to take off their face covering for ID purposes? this Q is abt the full head to toe covering, not hijab or any other dress. it is correct that women shouldn't be half-naked on streets of India, or anywhere else. i'm not advocating stripping of women by asking about burkha ban. the Q focuses solely on head to toe coverings - only eyes visible, with its implications for public security, nothing else. no need for emotional outbursts.

Inheritnace property law in India? hi, My father has passed away 18 years ago. I have a brother and my mother is still alive. They both are in India and I am an NRI. My father didn't have a Will at the time he died. So I believe all properties are in my mother’s name (may be one of them is in joint name with my brother). There are three big properties that are acquired by my father from his father + lots of jewelry. Before my father died, he has verbally told to my mother and extended family members (uncles and aunts) that one of the properties will be his daughter (that is mine). My mother wanted to transfer that property on my name but my brother opposed and didn’t provide papers of the property since he lives with my mother, he has control on all papers). Right now my brother and I are not in good relationship as he thinks that everything my father had has to be given to him as he is taking care of my mother. My mother is being controlled by my brother and his wife. My brother and his wife are taking my mother’s advantage (who is 72 yrs and in a very weak health condition). I don't know if there is an existing WILL by my mother, since I am thousands of miles away from them But I have a feeling that my brother has forced her to make a will and that everything my father had (now my mother has) belongs to him. When my father passed away I was married, but soon after I became a single mother of a daughter. I am from a Hindu family. My questions are: 1)By Indian law who would legally be the inheritance of properties of my father? 2)If my mother doesn’t have a WILL – will the properties divide equally between my bother and me? 3)What if there is a WILL by my mother (which I am not aware of) and according to that WILL if my mother gives every thing to my brother, then based on my circumstances I described above, can I ask for my share? Does the court consider the forcefully made WILL as correct one? I am very sure at least one or two of my extended family members can stand by the fact with me. 4)Does Indian court also consider the “need” of a single mother for raising a daughter single handedly for property rights? 5)What is the procedure to initiate property rights in India?
I married to US citizen and got conditional green card based on marriage.? My wife and her family made my life miserable in the US and ultimately after one year left the house taking away all the jewelry. As I was working at one of her uncle’s firm and lost the that job too. I came back to India to my own house. She has filed annulment of marriage based on fraud, that I married her to get the green card. Being in India I am unable to contact any attorney in the US. Please advice .
Which caste in South India ranks high in dowry collection? Now, coming to the demands of the guys and his parents, now a decently educated guy would easily ask for an youngish, say 18-year-old (even if he is touching his 40s), fair, tall, beautiful, well-educated, working, earning a decent salary (in this case, they are ready to relax an year or two) girl who looks no less than the recently famous actress, may be producing clones of the actress would satisfy these goons. In addition to this, the recent trend is one to two kilograms of gold in the form of jewelry (even a statue would crumble under this heavy weight, imagine an young girl wearing all this, hope she does not faint down), conduct the marriage function grandly as if they were the sons of kings, with all this contribution from the girl’s part, the only contribution from the guy would be that he would just come, so that his would-be in-laws could dress him up with a grand dress made of silk, and put him jewels and take him to the wedding hall, for according to him he is really doing a great sacrifice by marrying even such a worthy girl. It is as if he is being asked to drink poison, and he is accepting all these things in return for the poison. What atrocity!!!! In no way would this guy be superior to the girl, if any, he would be inferior, And such a lowly creature has such a high demand just to stick to life with the girl. To add to all this, this stupid guy would have the guts to gawk at other young girls crossing his path as if he was never married in his life. What guts!!!

can someone tell me honestly if i can gain respect back ? my cousin from india came all the way to visit me for five days. the very first thing he asked me was what i'm doing that i am busy all the time. when i told him everything, he looked at me and was able to tell i was making excuses. i guess in a way it made me realize i was hurting his feelings. he was expecting to see me in india with my sister last year but i never came. when he called me, i told him i got busy and his reply was "omg! eveyone is busy." a week after they left, i sent him a picture from his visit and he replied "we miss the fun and action we had there." then i wrote to him for india's independence day and he replied within two minutes then i called him for raksha bandhan. he told me i can write to him once twice a month. when i met him during his visit to new york last year, he told me the more continous time i spend with family, the more i'm going to remember them. now i'm starting to remember them. as an honest opinion, since i remembered him, do u think he still mad at me for making excuses about being busy? i wrote to him on his personal email instead of his office email in rgds to the new delhi bombs and didnt hear back from them. is there a way i can gain respect from him? i feel horrible. despite that, when my sister went to india, he bought me a jewelry box, bangles, a blanket, and a shawl. in new york, he bought me an indian style purse along with artificial jewelry. i guess he just wanted me to remember him. i dont know what i can do to show my cousin i'm remembering him. would an email once a month help? i dont want him to think he's getting a lot of email from me. he told me his comapny doesnt mind emails because he told me sending him emails is like writing him a letter. please send me honest feedback. to tell you the truth, all of my cousins in india are married and have kids of their own and i never had the chance to attend any of their weddings. when i started college, my dad's brother's daughter was getting married and my dad told me i had to go to the wedding. i had a horrible time. everyone ignored me, nor did anyone talk to me and they left me out in all of the cousin get-togethers. i guess that showed me how to be rude to others. please send me ur honest opinion. chanvces are i might write to him for diwali this year then write to him once a month or so on his office email. as it made me realize that he came all the way from india and he had to take time off and had to go through a lot of trouble to come visit me, i guess in a way he deserves a lot more respect. i've gotten complaints from him in the past that i stopped writing and calling.

Indians responding to compliments by making a gift of the item? I love Indian (as in India, not Native Americans) jewelry and clothing and am wondering about something that has happened when I have complimented women on their appearance. I told a woman who was a customer in a shop I work at that I thought the shawl she wore was very beautiful and she told me she made it and insisted very sweetly that I take it as a gift. I thanked her as well as I could. Then today, I was in a restaurant and complimented the server on her earrings and tol her how pretty they were. She removed them immediately and also insisted I have them. Both times I refused the gift and only accepted when the lady repeatedly insisted. My question is this: Is this a cultural tradtion and I should be aware of NOT complimenting items because the owner feels obligated to give it? Or am I supposed to reciprocate? I certainly don't want to take advantage of someone being so kind hearted and generous. Does anyone know how to best handle this? Beyond saying Thank You of course.

purchasing items overseas - using cash - no receipt? How do I record this as an expense or cost of goods? I went to Asia and bought a lot of jewelry, from the local folks in the country side in India and Southeast Asia. These are things like golden trinkets, bracelets, buddhas and cat figurines, etc. Anyway, they obviously dont accept US $ check, so I had to buy it in cash, lots of cash. Some gave receipts (weird small ones, handwritten) and some didnt. Needless to say, I made a lot of money re-selling these items in the USA. Now its tax time. how do I show I bought these items overseas, when most dont have receipts?

All of us who are lucky enough to be housed, clothed, and fed every day benefit from prices kept low by slave labor. Global companies we invest in, or whose stocks are part of our mutual or pension funds, provide higher returns because they buy from suppliers that pay workers very little—or not at all. As participants in the world's largest consumer economy, with its drive for lower and lower prices, we contribute to the global economic pressure for slave labor. We are all complicit. But didn't slavery end in the nineteenth century? Many of today's new abolitionists admit to having held that same assumption, until a news story or pamphlet or lecture shocked them out of it. Or you may have thought the reports of human trafficking that periodically make the news—such as sex slavery rings or forced migrant farm work—were isolated cases, somewhere far from you. I did. The truth is that slavery exists in virtually every country of the world and in almost every U.S. state, according to human rights organizations, scholars, government agencies, and journalists. A growing antislavery movement has been hard at work documenting and exposing this troubling fact. Surveying their reports and interviewing antislavery spokespeople is eye-opening, answering not only my question about the nineteenth-century “end” of slavery but raising other questions as well. In fact, legal slavery did end. Slavery is illegal in every country of the world. Nonetheless there are more slaves today than ever before: 27 million, twice as many as the number of Africans enslaved during the four centuries of the transatlantic slave trade, according to a calculation that slavery expert Kevin Bales calls conservative. Bales, a sociologist at Roehampton University in London who spoke at the UUA's 2003 General Assembly, estimates that 50,000 people are forced to work as slaves in the United States today. How can this be? If slavery is illegal everywhere, how can there be slaves, and in such numbers? In the United States our image of slavery is defined by our own horrific history. The antebellum slavery that was practiced here is called chattel slavery, meaning one person is owned completely by another and can be inherited as property. Today's slavery is different. Simply put, slavery is one person forcing another to work without pay, using the threat of violence or psychological manipulation. Ownership no longer defines slavery. When slaves could be legally owned, when buying slaves required a substantial financial investment, there was an incentive for owners to take care of their “property
Inlaws expectations of me getting too much or am I wrong? We(husband and I) grew up in India, met and got married in college abroad, and now live in a western country. When we visit India, I ALWAYS follow all the customs, rules and traditions of the family we are staying with. When my in-laws visit us for a few months every year, I make sure their every need is met. I ensure they are not bored, find and take them to activities/temples, shopping. I don't use them as babysitters at all. I cook foods they enjoy, and have long chat sessions with them about their life and stories. But, I also continue to live my regular life with my husband's total approval. Which means, I wear my regular western clothes everyday (and Indian dresses for occasions), I have wine/beer with my husband, my husband and I might put an arm around each other or a quick hug, I cook meat in the house (kids and husband like it), I wear slippers at home, I wear shorts when exercising, I go swimming. I don't wear tons of jewelry all the time, I keep my hair very short. I wear sleeveless but decent tops. My in-laws have a problem with the above mentioned. I told them if I can do something for their comfort like food, activity, call their friends, help with setting up their pooja/prayer stuff, travel, sightseeing, let me know. But, please, personal interference in my life is not welcome. I am 30+ mother of 2, and I live my life according to my terms with husband's approval. My husband totally supports me, and in-laws don't complain to him. They only nag me, make long faces, sulk for hours on end. My husband had made it clear to them that I have his full backing, and as long as I am taking care of them OK and making them feel welcome, the rest is my personal business. finally, today, we were going out for dinner. My mother-in-law didn't like my dress, she scolded me in front of my kids and said to go change or they will not come with us. I quietly went and sat in the car. She didn't come. the rest of us went ahead with dinner. She wants to cut short the visit. My husband gave them the phone and the number of the airlines to advance their ticket. What should I do? My mother (my own mother!) says,I should apologize and adjust my dressing and other habits to suit my in-laws taste. My husband says enough is enough, I'll take care of it. Should I give in for family peace or stay out of it, and let them return to India next week?
Islamic Empire influence the development of world history? I was wondering if you had any ideas or comments on how to start and write an essay that was assigned and is due on 12/15. Thanks: hERE IS THE ASSIGNMENT: Write a 5 paragraph essay that addresses the following question: How did the Islamic Empire influence the development of world history? Choose 3 areas of advancement and discuss their advancements in each area. Also explain how these advancements are important to our world today. SOME INFO: Culture of Traders The Arabs had been traders for centuries before their empire developed. Muhammad himself had been a trader. It is not surprising, then, that trade was important to Muslim culture. The empire was at the center of a world trade network that linked Europe, Asia, and Africa. India and China sent goods to ports in Syria and Egypt. As trade grew, other cultures increasingly demanded the quality goods that Muslims produced, such as textiles manufactured from silk, cotton, and wool, as well as beautiful woven tapestries and carpets. Muslims also made metal products from gold and silver. Steel swords from Damascus and from the Spanish city of Toledo became world famous. Luxuries such as jewelry, perfumes, and spices were in great demand. Muslim artisans produced pottery and glassware. Artisans in North Africa and Spain made fine leather goods. All this trade made the Islamic Empire wealthy. Muslims exchanged ideas with other cultures as well. Both Córdoba and Toledo in Spain were famous centers of learning. Christian and Jewish scholars carried Muslim ideas from Spain into western Europe. Sicily under the Muslims was known for its astronomers and geographers. They, too, influenced Europeans. Many Europeans, in fact, viewed the Muslim world as a source of advanced knowledge in many scientific areas and in banking and commerce. Government and Society Under Arab rule, the Muslim Empire was organized into provinces. At first one caliph headed the government. Disagreement over succession to the position developed, however. In time, these disputes led to the breakup of the empire into three areas, or caliphates. The caliphates were ruled by caliphs in Baghdad, Cairo, and Córdoba. Muslims throughout the Islamic Empire lived according to the Qur'an. It guided both their religious life and daily life—there was no separation. The Qur'an gave detailed instructions about how society should be organized and how people should live. All Muslims were expected to follow the Islamic laws in public and private life. Slavery was common in Arabia. The Qur'an urged Muslims to free their slaves. Those who chose to keep slaves were required to treat them humanely. No free Muslim could be enslaved, and the children of a female slave and her master were free. The family was the core of Muslim daily life. Muslims showed concern for all members of their family—parents, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They particularly respected the elderly. In Islamic families everyone had specific roles and duties. Men were responsible for the family's needs. Parents usually arranged marriages for their children. However, the Qur'an gave a woman the right to refuse the arrangement. The groom was required to give his bride a marriage gift of property or money. It was common in Arabia for a man to have several wives. The Qur'an restricted a Muslim man to four wives, and he had to treat them equally. In fact, the Qur'an gave women more rights than they had received under traditional Arab law. For example, if a woman got divorced, she kept her own money and was free to remarry. She could also inherit money and own property. Muslim women enjoyed more freedom than most women at the time. Later, however, women began to be secluded and lost some rights. The government supported schools and libraries. The family and the mosque also took responsibility for education. A person who could speak and write well was thought to be educated. Students attended religious study groups at the mosque. Advanced students could attend schools established for the study of science, mathematics, or law. Medicine. Some of the most important contributions that Muslims made were to medical science. They studied the work of the famous Greek physicians Hippocrates and Galen. Then they added to what the Greeks had done. Scientific advances in the use of herbs, foods, and prepared drugs added to the Islamic world's vast store of medical knowledge. Some of this early Muslim work in the development and preparation of pharmaceutical drugs is still in use today. In some cases, techniques such as distillation that were first used by Muslim scientists to prepare medical drugs are also followed by today's manufacturers. Muslim doctors achieved great progress in the techniques of dissection to study anatomy. They also developed improved surgical instruments and processes. The Muslim surgeon Abu al-Qasim, for example, practiced in Islamic Spain, in the city of Córdoba. His work did much to
can someone please help me with my silk road essay? heres what i have so far The Silk Road With silk, jade, furs and many other items being carried by merchants of many countries on the Silk Road from present day China to present day Turkey, the interaction of these different cultures created a cultural diffusion that can be seen in the resulting names, tools, jewelry, luxuries and house wares that these different societies adopted. The Silk Road came into existence at around 300 B.C. This “road” consisted of vast and numerous trade routes that went from between modern day China and modern day Europe, on the way passing through such countries as India, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan. The road also went through desert oasis’s surrounded by large mountains. On this immense trade route there were many different kinds of trade routes, such as silk routes, spice routes, and Eurasian step routes. Silk was one of the most important items traded along the Silk Road. This expensive item is made from the silkworm when it spins a cocoon. The Chinese discovered this at around 2600 B.C.E. and kept this secret of producing silk a very well kept one. Once the Silk Road was open techniques of weaving the silken thread did not begin to spread because this material was similar to that used by cloth weavers. But by 300 A.D. silk cloth was being woven in central and western Asia using Chinese thread. The well kept Chinese secret was not kept for long because at the start of the fifth century people in the Khotan (an oasis) on the southern path of the silk rode around the Takla Makan Desert learned the secret of the production and making of silk itself. The story of how this happens goes like this. One of the Khotan kings married a Chinese princess who smuggled out silk worms and mulberry seeds (the silk worm only eats from mulberry trees) out of china in her headdress. (The silk route and spices, Reid, 32-33) One of the earliest materials to be transported from the Khotan area located on the southern Silk Road was jade. Jade was valuable at the time and was crafted into many things such as ring shaped pendants, and coiled yellow jade dragons placed in graves. Since jade is still transported by road from Khotan to China one might not call this road the Silk Road but rather the Jade Road, if it wasn’t for the fact that silk was traded over a greater distance. The Chinese and Sogdians were both very active traders on the silk road, trading many things between each other and other civilization. Some of the things the Chinese traded were silk, jade, furs, porcelain and other ceramics, Lauer, and iron. From a Sogdian letter we learn that the Sogdian merchants traded gold, musk, pepper, camphor, flasks, cloth and wheat. Items weren’t the only things traded on the Silk Road. Knowledge, science, art, technology, language, and religion were traded amongst the people on the Silk Road. Technology played a very important role in the thriving of the Silk Road. Iron smelting is one example With all the trading going on, on the Silk Road there was also the mixing of different cultures. Europeans learned to make paper from the Sogdians. Chinese art (especially wall paintings) had a strong effect on Sogdian art. Sogdian sources say that during the fourth century A.D. indicate that there was a triangular trade pattern between India, Sogdiana, and China. By the seventh century many Sogdian merchants had settled in China and took on Chinese names. These merchants became respected members of Chinese society. Sogdians bought silk from the Chinese, as well as copied their copper coins. Besides cultural diffusion there was also religious diffusion. There is evidence of Zoroastrian (a Sogdian religion) temples in Lanzhog China. Another major religion transmitted across the Silk Road by Sogdians is Malchelism. This is proved by Sogdian letters. The Buddhist religion came to China using the Silk Road at around 100 A.D. The Menikin religion was adopted by the Vighurs for hundreds of years. it has to be 6 pages and right now its 3 :( any ideas on how to make it longer or how to make it look longer will be greatly apreciated Thank you
Wanna get back with Ex after break up, how to proceed further? This is about a break up and desperate to know how to get back with my ex, First of all I wanted to tell you that I send a written letter 4 days after break up. But I called her and met with her the next week and we broke up again. I really wanted to explain in brief the story of the break up. We met thru online dating this feb'10 so it has been 8 months we have been in the relationship. It is a long distance relationship of 60 miles one way. We started meeting over the weekend and some weekdays. Relationship was good we had many common interests in doing things. But she kept saying that I'm not giving attention to her, not listening to her in different ways all along. Looks like she felt that I'm not really affectionate but really I never felt that way, here are some incidents that she mentioned during break up and I realized that I did not listen to her opinions, 1. We argued for silly things and I tried to win the argument, 2.I was being defensive in arguments, 3.Not giving attention to her opinions 4.Started telling her why should we spend gas so letz meet over weekend. (I just mentioned but still continued to meet over weekdays) 5.She is the one calls or texts me most of the time. 6.Told her that, Just for a week letz talk after 9 so I can pile up some roll over minutes in AT&T phone plan (I just mentioned but talked normally before 9) 7.Whenever she tells me Miss you or Love you, I didn't tell that back to her. (Since I was from India I told her that it is a cultural difference and I'm working on it. She understood. I starting telling her but not that much) 8. Pushed her to ride a motorcycle(she loved it), once she got a neck pain but I kinda not payed attention to that. (Even though things happened, I have always loved her and we never had real fight) She had all these thoughts for few months I believe and on her birthday Nov-6(saturday), she was in my home, gave her a diamond necklace that morning with a little card saying how much I love her. She started crying after few minutes saying – she didn't feel that way. Then she mentioned all the things which I mentioned above that she felt insecure and we cannot go further. She cried when she spoke about it. Looks like she thought about this for a week since bought my stuffs from her home and it was in her car, left me before leaving. Then I felt how much I love her. Totally upset, kinda cried too. Your book was really really helpful, showed me some light. Send her a written letter four days after break up. She send me a reply email saying, thank you for the letter and love to hear about my big thing. I didn't call her for a week then couldn't control, called her (Nov-18 Thursday) we spoke for an hour (probably it is long I believe) and decided to meet on Sunday for lunch at 2 closer to her home. In the interim I carved a Guitar out of soap and made her hair as the string of the guitar, put it in a little glass box like a jewelry. ( Looks corny!) Met her for lunch, we ate and talked about fun stuffs for 2 hours, gave her the guitar gift and she said “she is impressed”. She asked me “why I send her a letter instead of text or email”, “why did I call after a week of her email”, I replied that we both needed some space, then she started talking about the relationship, we gone through each and every incidents again. We talked 2 more hours on that. So basically we were in the restaurant for almost 4 hours.(definitely too much, isn't it) Then we went to her home to watch a movie. After the movie I said I'm leaving, she replied “Im surprised you are leaving”. I fell for that saying “I don't wanna leave but it is her call”. Then I stayed and we had fun.. She asked me why I love her, I said "If you feel that you wanna live for 100 years with someone, thatz why I love her" Monday morning I left saying I'll come back Tuesday. When we talked Monday evening, she said it is not gonna work and we both have different characters, she also mentioned that “We both met on sunday with different intentions sine she came to settle things and the way I behaved felt like I wanted to fix the relationship” and we said goodbye (She cried this time too). I didn't fight or go on more than that. She was using one of my motorcycle, it is still in her home and told her I'll pick it up in a week or two. Broke up on Nov-6 Send her letter Nov-10 She emailed for the letter Nov-10 I called her Nov-18 Met her on Nov-21 Broke up on Nov-22 Overall, I feel like I screwed up my chance by calling her too early I believe. I'm totally depressed, filled with anxiety. I'm totally relying on you. Please I need your help. What should I do now, do I have a chance of getting her back, how to proceed further. Give me a direction please.

Troubling Sis in LAw? My Sis in law is very much a problem for me? Since my marriage she has made many problems for me. But I just leave it away. But when she started to make problems and poke her nose in all my family issues, it really tensed me. I told the whole thing to my husband. He told me that since she's the youngest and the only daughter in the family, she's pampered. He asked me to just take everything easily. But she doesn't do such things to the elder bro's wife. Later on I came to know that she has the problem of depression and that's why the family doesn't hurt her. But what I understand is that, there is no reaon for her to be depressed. She was pampered by her family and given all the things she asked for. Her husband buys and shops for her all the expensive products in the mall. He's very simple and loving towars his wife and child. Even in the case of money, they have what they wanted. I don't understand what is the problem with her? She imitates the way I use makeup. She buys clothes similar to me. Sometimes she asks my husband to buy the same clothes for her which he bought for me. Even she imitates the jewellery I wear. She fights & creats an emotional scene in front of me with her husband, to buy her some items same like me. I feel really frustrated by this girl. She loves and cares for the elder brother's wife and kids. LAst time I went to India, she created a lot of probs for me and included my mom in law and father in law. For this reason, now they are also treating me very badly. And the probs she made was just happened only because she lied. My husband's brother's wife came to know all these and she understood that she was lying. But what to do..... even she can't help me... coz she's also staying in there together with inlaws. She applogised to me that she can't help. When my husband came to know all these, he fought with his sister and asked mom to explain to her. But i came to know that mom & dad are on her side. LAter on she told me that she done all these coz she was really depressed. Than things turned out to be normal. But few days back my husband's brother's wife told me that the story of depression is just a lie. Actually my sis in law is not having any kind of disease. the doctor whom she went after all the heck she made in the home told my husband's brother's wife........ So I came to know that this girl is really giving me a hard time purposely. What will I do to handle this girl? My only relief is my husband. He understands me.. What should i do to keep a good relation with her?
Why is my husband not talking with me? We are married for more than 8 years. From the beginning , all our disagreements were based on what his parents tells us. They were so mean to me and teased me by all ways. Actually his mother is a control freak and she tried to stop our marriage, but in vain. Since then she along with her husband sweet talks my husband and ill-treats me privately. Now we are living in USA and his parents in India. Now also they insult me million times over phone. But my husband wants me to talk to them as if nothing has happened. Then I put the phone in speaker and he too knew what is happening, but still blindly commands me to behave nicely. I don't feel anything lovable in our relationship anymore. He NEVER supported me or never asked them to stop that non sense. When I cry heartbroken, he shouts at me to quit the drama. Last week i told him that I can't take it anymore and didn't talk with his parents. Then to my surprise he too stopped talking with me. He has never been so bad like this to me. But I am so much depressed on seeing him like this. When i asked him about his silence, he told he has nothing to talk to me. In India, most of the men marries a girl so that the bride takes care of the inlaws and brings home dowry, jewellery . we can't expect love from men. I thought I will be an exception, but my husband also behaved typically. other info: I have always been very supportive to my inlaws from the beginning. I have made my husband buy them all the basic needs like washing machine, fridge, etc etc. (I never counted what we presented them). Whenever they came to visit us, I have always been so obliging and tried to keep them happy. They usually say, they didn't like my dark brown skin and was expecting a fair skin girl and got disappointed by their son's choice. Also his mother couldn't accept his son falling in love with me, as they were aiming at an arranged marriage. Other than that, I have not done anything wrong. Please tell me, how to make my husband love me again. How can I make him talk with me again ? I want to make him understand my pain and I am also a human being like his parents. If we should go for a couple counseling in USA , where should we go? will he change and start caring for me as a real person? I am much worried of my future.
Is money Provided in first motion of mutual divorce safe? My Wife is distantly related to me and reason for my marriage under Hindu law was that there will be mutual respect on bothsides. But her mother had her own designs and withh good old mobile phone she kept playing her evil design. Both of us earn really well as we have well paying jobs and money was not an issue ( i spent 12 lakhs on her in 1st year after marriage on just travel restaurants and fun) My Wife left me one and a half years ago in Dec 2009. She was misguided by her parents and maternal uncle(who happens to be a divorce lawyer) and under a well laid out plan she decamped with Jewellery in t he house. Fortunately we discovered it before she left and called her grandfather and capture the entire 3 hr meeting with a hidden camera. I made numerous attempts to meet my wife as I truly love her, however she refused to meet or reply to my mails. Then one day she replied in an email under counsel of her maternal uncle and applied all charges from 498 A , DV act , streedhan, etc. on me , my parents and my sister who does not even live in India. She did not go to court as she knew I had proofs. I kept trying for one year giving options of both reconcillation and mutual divorce , but they never agreed to meet us . After one year they met and abused my parents , threatening to get them straightened with goondas, if they went to court. Now they have agreed to Mutual divorce. We decided on 12 lacs as alimony . However in interim there has been a SC verdict that Both parties can withdraw from Divorce before second petition They want half the money on first petition . In lieu of current SC verdict, How safe will be my money?

Anyone know of a reputable semi-precious gemstone bead supplier in Jaipur, India? I'm looking for silver beads and semi-precious gemstone beads, such as tanzanite, tourmaline, citrine, and amethyst, in shapes such as faceted rounds, briolettes, and cubes. Can any of you recommend a *specific* supplier in Jaipur, India?...someone whom you trust and who has a good selection and is available by email. I will not be able to go there myself and shop around, so I need to be able to select items from a website or email them a list of things I want. My relative will go by Jaipur and pick up my order in a few weeks. BTW, I'm making jewelry which I will sell, and I'll donate all profits to a charity in South India. I hope my idea works! Thanks for reading!

Women have lot to enjoy than to complain. Am I right? Women have lots of things to enjoy than men, both provided by nature and the society. 1)Women know how to drive but they want men to drive. 2)Men give them a hand when they are coming down from a height. 3)When someone is in danger women can stay only asking for help. But if men do that they are considered as hideous. 4)When the country is needed to be protected, women don't go to war. Even if few go they don't go to battle front. 5)Children are closer to mothers than fathers. (Often) 6)Men have to do all the hard work in intercourse (but both parties enjoy it). 7)A large portion of family's income is separated to jewelries (In India).Men like to make women happier. 8)And more. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsA8ZPBNcn69UncJKN252hIYxgt.;_ylv=3?qid=20080222200325AAXO4YH I am not saying they are bad,or we should stop doing them. But the point is that even most of the women say that they have been discriminated and their rights are violated, they have these benefits over men Here is a nice picture, so you can enjoy. http://i.indiafm.com/firstlook/jodhaaakbar5.jpg To Laustin Founde: Yes most men expect that from women, but most women (same age) don't realize it. And some women here, always see the negative side.
Small business ideas for American College Student w/ minimal investment? I am a college student in the US, and is looking for another point of view/advice for small business ideas that requires minimal investment. In the past I purchased costume jewelry from India, but the market is now saturated with cheap jewelry coming from china that making a profit is not possible. What other products that are cheap in india that you think might sell well in the US or what cheap US products are in demand in India? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance. (Also, I am not looking to get rich, just to support myself while I'm in school. I am not interested in blogging, survey, mlm, home typing/data entry jobs, as those are scams. Please be respectfull.)
Any women from India here? Beauty questions for you..? I'm american but I love the style and beauty of Indian women, especially the long silky hair. Can you give any great tips on making hair long and shiny? Special conditioners or shampoo? Also jewelry tips? I saw a woman with some beautiful anklets recently. Thought I'd ask! By the way, I am not trying to look like I'm from India. Anyone knows that an intelligent person will ask those they admire for tips! What type of oil for the hair? Also, I'm mostly interested in hair and jewelry. Bite me, I think it's funny how you always have someone with some stupid response, that has nothing to do with the question. I don't admire you, especially with your crudeness. I'm a beautician and admire beauty in all women. Quite frankly, I think you and one other person had racist responses. Also, the internet gives you a chance to meet and learn from all different types of people. Thank you to those with a helpful response. To those of you who acted defensive and racist, you are the types who like to keep people divided, instead of coming together. You should be ashamed of yourself! I'm also wondering how someone asking a question about hair or jewlery has anything to do with imitating someone? If another race said "caucasions had beautiful hair and jewelery, any tips"? I wouldn't think they were trying to look like they were white, just looking for beauty tips. Grow up!

Reproduced with permission of copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission. Milan -- When Italian fashion house Gianni Versace SpA recently threw a cocktail party in the courtyard of its 16th-century palazzo to promote its latest creations, designer Donatella Versace ducked out of the soiree early, flanked by bodyguards. Instead, Giancarlo Di Risio, Versace's bespectacled chief executive, presided over an evening that highlighted luxury goods: Parked at one end of the courtyard was a half-million-dollar Lamborghini Murcielago with a black-and-white leather interior by Versace. A huge poster showed an AgustaWestland helicopter with a Versace-designed cabin. Stacked nearby was luggage embossed with the brand's Greek motif, with pieces starting at about $4,000. Mr. Di Risio is trying to shift Versace's attention away from clothes and to accessories, home interiors and other lifestyle products that will bring in new streams of revenue and offset fickle fashion cycles. "Fashion does not exist at Versace," he said, describing his strategy in an interview before the reception. The new approach is bearing fruit. Versace swung back into the black last year, posting a $25.4 million profit after years of losses, and has shaken off millions in debt. Driving that turnaround were rising sales in the lucrative accessories Mr. Di Risio is pushing. Yet the effects of the makeover have touched the core of the company's identity. Ms. Versace has begun taming the flamboyant clothing designs that once set her and the fashion house apart from the crowd. "I no longer recognize myself in that kind of woman," the 52-year-old Ms. Versace said in a telephone interview. The culture shift at Versace highlights how an increasingly competitive fashion industry is forcing even the most freewheeling players to embrace a corporate culture. Many labels, including LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton's smaller brands like Celine and Marc Jacobs, have also been toning down their looks to appeal to a wider swath of consumers. Designers who once called the shots are ceding authority to executives who run the numbers. "In the beginning, it was a shock for me," Ms. Versace said. "When you tell a person who is used to being in power -- to saying yes or no on everything -- to take a step back, it's not easy. But it was necessary." Tweaking a label's aesthetics carries risks. If pushed too far, transformations risk alienating loyal customers, says Robert Burke, head of New York-based luxury-goods consultancy Robert Burke Associates and the former fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman. "You will always want to see a fashion edge to Versace," he says. Yet for family-owned fashion labels like Versace, pressure to make more money is high. They compete with publicly traded conglomerates such as LVMH and PPR SA's Gucci Group, which have the financial heft to expand with stores in the emerging markets of China, India and Russia -- seen as fueling the industry's growth. A number of Italy's top family-owned fashion houses, including Versace, Prada SpA and Salvatore Ferragamo SpA, are considering stock- market listings in the next couple of years. "An IPO would be the best way to raise money and implant in these countries," says Peter Farren, a luxury-goods analyst at the French investment firm Bryan Garnier. At Versace, a sobering realization is spurring Mr. Di Risio's moves: The clothes that once made the brand are now struggling to make money. In its heyday in the early 1990s, Versace stayed ahead of the fashion mainstream with lavish catwalk shows that celebrated the racy designs of founder Gianni Versace. The label amassed collections of real estate and artwork that enhanced the family's jet-setter status. The company found it increasingly tough to squeeze profits out of highly perishable fashions as production costs rose in Italy. In 1997, Mr. Versace was murdered outside his Miami villa. The firm's finances went into a tailspin, and it was forced to shelve plans to go public. Mr. Versace's 50% stake in the label went to his niece, Ms. Versace's then-preteen daughter Allegra Versace Beck, shifting the balance of power. Though Ms. Versace owns only 20% of the company, she was seen to exert huge influence because of her daughter's stake. A third sibling, Santo Versace, owns the remaining 30% of the company. Ms. Versace Beck, now 20 years old, manages her stake with the help of advisers. The Versace stakeholders decided the company needed a CEO who could turn the company around. Fabio Cacciatori, at one time an outside financial consultant for the company, became CEO in September 2003 but resigned in December. The company named Versace's then-Chief Financial Officer Daniele Ballestrazzi interim CEO as it searched for new leadership. When Versace recruited Mr. Di Risio from LVMH's Fendi label in the summer of 2004, the house was saddled with more than $146 million in debt and heading to a net loss of $124 million for the year, on revenue of $416 million. High-end retailers like Bergdorf Goodman had stopped carrying the brand. Bergdorf Chief Executive Jim Gold recalls that Versace was distributing too widely, diluting its exclusivity, and was overly consumed with making a splash on the runway. While many labels had started delivering retailers fresh designs more frequently, ahead of the runway collections, Versace resisted. Mr. Di Risio arrived with a new mantra. Clothing that is too fashionable, he told his lieutenants, is bad for business because it eats up capital and goes out of style quickly. Accessories and other leather goods are a better bet because they have a longer shelf life and fatter profit margins. To reduce Versace's dependence on fashion, Mr. Di Risio shut down lines such as Versace Intimates lingerie and Versace Young, a children's line. The company sold its unprofitable perfume, jewelry and watchmaking divisions, replacing them with lucrative licensing agreements with U.S. watch group Timex Corp. and Italian perfume and cosmetics maker EuroItalia Srl. Mr. Di Risio homed in on the company's shoes and handbags, which have higher profit margins because they cost less to produce than clothes but are easier to sell to a wide array of customers. Last year, more than 30% of Versace's $383 million in revenue came from accessories, compared with 4% when Mr. Di Risio arrived. He also expanded the label's push into home furnishings -- a business that generated sales of $82.5 million in 2006, up 55% from the year before. Versace recently unveiled its "Jet Seat," an aerodynamically-styled leather chair in a high-tech ceramic frame that is sold in Europe for <euro>38,000 (about $50,000). "It was like taking a blank page and rewriting everything," Mr. Di Risio says. To succeed, however, he had to get Ms. Versace on board. She had hoped to resurrect the costly haute-couture fashion shows the label had discontinued before Mr. Di Risio's arrival. But he argued she could more effectively enhance the line's exclusivity by holding showings for individual clients. "I said to Di Risio, 'This is not going to work. This is going to die,'" recalled Ms. Versace. But, she said, "I was wrong, and he was right. We sell more now." Ms. Versace had to become more conscious of how much time and money the label invests in promoting designs at events like the Oscars. Last year, the designer dressed actresses Hilary Swank, Uma Thurman and Salma Hayek and director Robert Altman's wife, Kathryn Reed Altman, who donned a navy-blue sequin gown. This year, however, Ms. Versace limited herself to one gown, designing a rose-colored dress with a sweeping train for best-actress nominee Penelope Cruz. For Versace's ready-to-wear line, Ms. Versace is going for looks she calls "a little more understated." Bergdorf Goodman will carry her designs in the fall for the first time in years. Ms. Versace is also working more closely with retailers, adding four more collections beyond the traditional spring and fall runway collections. These are shown to retailers in private visits, giving them a preview of what to expect. On the financial side, Mr. Di Risio has untangled the company's assets from those of the family, selling property he deemed "nonstrategic" to pay the company's debts. The family's Manhattan townhouse was sold for about $35 million, and its contents went up for auction in 2005. The paintings alone -- including works by artists Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein and Julian Schnabel -- fetched more than $11 million dollars. Flagship stores in New York, London and Milan that Mr. Di Risio described as "decadent and sad," were redone with sleek, minimalist designs. The label, which operates 82 stores and has 35 franchise operations, plans to open more than 10 boutiques by the end of the year, including seven stores in China alone. When Versace opened the doors of its updated Moscow boutique in April, an array of leather bags, belts and shoes greeted customers at the store's lacquered ground-floor entrance. The label's ready-to-wear collection was relegated to the upper floor.
Some questions about gold, please? Although I am not exactly "together" enough yet to ask this I will try!! It is true, is it not, that in the past it was a favorite study of the alchemists to find something to replace (?) gold. However, there is a gap in my information here, because I notice that today we have the following, for ex: 1) gold paint, both oil-based, and water based 2) gold trim for garments, of various qualities; for gold braid, or for the borders of Indian saris ... 3) gold colored pencils, gold printer's ink 4) gold nail polish, gold eye shadow 5) and more: can't think of it right now... What happened? How do they now make the color.......is gold used in the process, or did they actually find a way to make the color anyway? Another question: What are the differences in carat? I especially would like to know about the gold that is used in India in their jewelry so dark (and rosy?). Is it something in the alloy? Thank you very much for any information ! I am especially interested in Indian gold....... and...as for paint, what colors are they mixing together to get the gold ....it is not golden, as in a golden yellow, it actually looks like the metal itself thank you
How could one possibly say that not one character in the Bible existed? Where did you think they got the crucifixion necklace? Did you think that some man while he was bored decided to make some kind of jewelry? Crucifixion was like the capital punishment back then. If you think I am wrong go to the search bar in Google and type in Julius Ceasear, he crucified pirates. Also the facts that there was a couple of books written by each man. I am not saying I believe the miracles in the Bible but some references in the Bible can provide the community a historical reference. I think that the following people existed because there was an entire trial on Jesus, Peter, Thomas, etc. Peter was crucified upside down as requested, Jesus was crucified by Ponus Pilate, Thomas was martyred in India. Now these are well developed characters that help explain how exactly things were like back then. This really isn't a novel but some kind of historical document. However Roman officials could've easily manipulated these documents to serve their purposes.
Grown man nervous about tonight....? Well, I've been friends with this lady for 3 years. We've finally decided to make a go of a relationship. Now, I've been married, have been in many relationships, but I'm so nervous about tonight. See, I'm taking her out, got her a nice piece of jewelry, a couple of La India & Celia Cruz albums, and roses. We're planning to finally get it on and popping. She's my number one. I can't think of anyone else right now. She's it. I am nervous about just finally getting there with her. What the hell?

Someone asked a week or so, "Do Buddhists believe in God, Heaven & Hell ? Why is it... The Buddha never talked about the One God of the desert, the Judeo-Christian God? Does this mean that all Buddhists are atheists and don’t believe in God? Did the Buddha believe in God? These are some of the questions I would like to try and answer today. The Buddha was born 500 years before Christ, in what is now Nepal. His dad was a king, his mom was a queen, and his dad wanted him to take over the family business (the kingdom) when he got older. The kind of world the Buddha was born into was magical. Everything seemed to be alive. The trees, mountains, lakes, and sky were living and breathing with a variety of gods in charge. If you needed rain you asked one god, if you needed it to stop raining you asked another. The priests of India did all the religious work, and got paid for it. In India at the time of the Buddha you became a priest if you were born into the right family, and not because of the school you went to, or the grades you got. There were other kinds of religious people as well. Mendicants were men who left their family, friends, and jobs to find the answers to life. They did not live in homes or apartments, but lived under trees and in caves, and would practice meditation all day long. They wanted to really be uncomfortable, so they could understand what suffering was all about. Many kinds of meditation were practiced by these mendicants. In Tranquility Meditation for instance, you think about just one thing, like looking at a candle or saying a word over and over. When the mind becomes focused in oneness, you experience a great peacefulness. Even if the mendicants were sitting in the rain on a cold day, they were still content. They found in their meditation practice the essence of happiness. Renunciation is when you give up all the things that make your life pleasant. Sometimes the people with money and power in India would buy a lot of stuff to make themselves happy and their lives more comfortable, thinking that happiness and comfort depended on what they owned. When the mendicants could see their own suffering clearly, after many years of renunciation, they understood that happiness was not dependent on the things they owned, but the kind of life they lived. Even all the gods in India could not end the suffering of one human being. At the age of 29, the Buddha stopped praying to the gods to end his suffering and the suffering of others. He left his family and friends, went to the edge of the forest, took off all his clothes and jewelry, covered his naked body with rags of cloth, cut off his hair and started to meditate. He became a mendicant, and It took him six years of hard work and much suffering, but in the end he was able to stop his suffering forever (Nirvana) and help others stop their suffering as well. Did the Buddha believe in God, the One God of the desert, the God of the Christians, Jews and Muslims? Well... No... He didn't... Monotheism (only one God) was a foreign concept to the Buddha, his world was filled with many gods. The creator god Brahma being the most important one. At the time of the Buddha, the only people practicing the religion of the One God of the desert, were the Jews. Remember, it was still 500 years before Christ came into the world. The Buddha never left India. The Buddha walked from village to village... In his entire lifetime he never went any further than 200 miles from his birthplace. The Buddha never met a Jew... And because of this, he never said anything about the One God of the desert. There is also nothing in the teachings of the Buddha that suggest how to find God or worship the god's of India, although the Buddha himself was a theist (believed in gods), his teachings are non-theistic. The Buddha was more concerned with the human condition: Birth, Sickness, Old age, and Death. The Buddhist path is about coming to a place of acceptance with these painful aspects of life, and not suffering through them. Please be clear on this point... The Buddha is not thought of as a god in Buddhism and is not prayed to. He is looked up to and respected as a great teacher, in the same way we respect Abraham Lincoln as a great president. He was a human being who found his perfection in Nirvana. Because of his Nirvana, the Buddha was perfectly moral, perfectly ethical, and ended his suffering forever. Does that mean that every Buddhist in the world is an atheist? No!!! I have met a lot of Buddhists who believe in God. I have met a lot of Buddhists who don’t believe in God... And a lot of Buddhists just don’t know. All three points of view are OK if you’re Buddhist because suffering is more important than God in Buddhism. Sometimes a student will ask me how everything in this world got started... "If you don’t have God in Buddhism then who or what caused the universe?" When the Buddha was asked how the world started, he kept silent. In the religion of Buddhism we don’t have a first cause, instead we have a never ending circle of birth and death. In this world and in all worlds, there are many beginnings and ends. The model of life used in Buddhism has no starting place... It just keeps going and going. Now having said that... If you’re a Buddhist it’s OK to believe God was the first cause... It really doesn't go against the teachings of the Buddha, his focus was on suffering... It's also OK to believe science has the answer… Like the big bang theory, etc... Some Buddhist’s don’t even care how it all started, and that’s fine too. Knowing how the world started is not going to end your suffering, it’s just going to give you more stuff to think about. I hope you can see that God is not what Buddhism is about... Suffering is... And if you want to believe in God, as some Buddhists do, I suppose it's OK. But, Buddhist's don't believe God can end suffering. Only the teaching's of the Buddha can help us end suffering through wisdom and the activity of compassion. In his whole life and in all his teachings the Buddha never said anything about the One God of the desert. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also by Kusala How I Became a Buddhist Do Buddhists Go to Heaven The Problem with Sex in Buddhism Buddhist Enlightenment vs Nirvana Jesus, according to Christians, died for the sins of humans, but that did not end their suffering. Buddha did not claim to be God, or a famous prophet, but as a man, he provided the means for mankind to end the sufferings in the world through the four noble truths, and the noble eightfold path, which brings true inner mental stability and true mental calmness and peace as well.

What can I do about wedding plans? I plan on getting married and I have no idea where to begin. None of my family is going to help me and I don't know the rules in South India. My fiance doesn't talk much about it. I would like a simple christian wedding since I'm not rich or anything. I'm making my own wedding gown so that's a save. When I go to India I will bring my gown, white shoes, simple jewelry and makeup. It will be simple but beautiful. I just wish he was more interested in the planning part. I don't know what to do once I get there?
Divorcee or leave to gather. Cruelty ? For Kids sake? Will try to make long story short. It’s 2nd marriage for me and 3rd for my wife. (her 2nd Marriage was with her brother-in-law to migrate to USA). It’s about 6 yrs. Two kids about 6 & 3 yrs. Old very smart and sensitive kids. 1)As I was suppose to as husband I added her name to all of my bank accounts, gave her about 3 to 4 credit cards, I choose to add my wife’s name to bank locker along with my brother’s name and not mine which had all of our family’s jewelry. 2)I tried selling my manual, stick shift car for about atleast 8 months but no buyer so asked my wife we can sell her car (automatic transmission) easy to sell and put that money in her retirement account which I did. In my friend’s presence she told my friend that she is vague about that money but not sure this is after she did at times opened the mail for her retirement bank statements for 5 yrs. 3)When on honey moon she was buying too many gifts for her niece and nephew and I had to politely tell her stop buying more she argued and I told her that she is trying to rip me off. 4)My mother-in-law stayed with us for about 8 – 10 mths during our 2nd child and she told me that they are good people who are not asking for baby sitting money. This is when my wife was housewife and not working at all. Yes my MIL baby sit my kids when my wife had doctor’s appointments but she forgets that I paid her one way ticket from USA to India and also attorney’s fees to find out if my 50 yr. old Sister-in-law can migrate to USA about 2 yrs. earlier then her Visa procedure. 5)I will have to visit India b’case my sister-in-law ignored my instructions to invest in 3yr CD instead of 6 yr. CD which was her decision. I was totally unaware till my wife told me about 1 1/5 yr. later when she visited India. 6)For 2 yrs. or so my wife insisted and forced me to visit her family in India after our marriage and we decided to visit when my son would be about 1 ¼ yr. old for her hair cutting ceremony even when my brother, sister, all fraternal and maternal uncle and aunts are in USA. Now she changed her stand that it was for hair cutting only and not to visit her brother and sister who hardly called us for about 6 yrs. Or so till they migrated to USA. 7)After her return from first visit from India on or around 4th day or so she told me that she will visit one more time to India before her brother and sister migrates to USA I got little mad and told her to plan for her and ours better future plan rather then thinking about roaming all the time. For 6 yrs. Our trips include. Honeymoon, total of 2 trips to her sister’s place in other state in USA and 2 trips to India, one to my friend in other state even after this she told my friend we never visited any place and never goes out. 8)She deleted couple of emails about her expense of India where the amount differed few times this is after she was done shopping and when asked she told me I am cheap and should have asked if she needed more money like her brother in law does all the time. 9)My sister-in-law told me couple of times on our way to her house from airport that her other brother-in-law rented a bus and invited about 50 people, also this being at diwali time also told me her other brother-in-law sped about two thousand Rupees for firecrackers for kids, and also shoed me many gifts that her brother in law gave it to them, yes I gave less number of gifts but if considered mine were more expensive then her. I believe in quality and not quantity. DOES THIS MEAN THEY WERE TRYING TO MAKE ME SPEND MONEY TO THEIR SHOW-OFF. 10)My wife told me to buy CD player or some thing around Four to five thousand Rupees for my sister in law had to make about 3 or so trips when my house was sold and all the expenses were paid by me as it’s my house and I don’t want to look cheap but they never ever bought me any thing for myself when they came to USA even when I paid for my MIL’s ticket and $200 Immigration attorney fees for my other SIL’s. 11)MY WIFE AND SIL’S COMMENTS ARE THAT OF TOTALLY LOW LIFE ( based on 4 people I asked about their comments ) AND THEY CHANGE THEIR STAND EVERY TIME AFTER THEIR COMMENTS. 12)My SIL told me it was also my responsibility to support and help my BIL and SIL who are migrating to USA and then she changed her stand. PL. BE HONEST IN YOUR OPINION SOUND LIKE ONE WAY STORY BUT THIS ARE FACTS. I DON’T WANT TO PLAY GAMES SINCE MY KIDS LIFE IS INVOLVED. even when my wife was housewife for about 5 yrs. i never ever stopped her while she called her sister and brother in india even though her bro and sis never ever called us here in usa and her sister who was hendeling my money in india never ever informed by spending about Rs10 letter or by phone about how my money was invested overriding my instruction.

did jesus really die on a cross? THE cross is one of the most recognizable religious symbols known to man. Millions revere it, considering it to be the sacred instrument on which Jesus was put to death. Roman Catholic writer and archaeologist Adolphe-Napoleon Didron stated: “The cross has received a worship similar, if not equal, to that of Christ; this sacred wood is adored almost equally with God Himself.” Some say that the cross makes them feel closer to God when they pray. Others use it as an amulet, thinking that it protects them from evil. But should Christians use the cross as an object of veneration? Did Jesus really die on a cross? What does the Bible teach on this subject? Long before the Christian era, crosses were used by the ancient Babylonians as symbols in their worship of the fertility god Tammuz. The use of the cross spread into Egypt, India, Syria, and China. Then, centuries later, the Israelites adulterated their worship of Jehovah with acts of veneration to the false god Tammuz. The Bible refers to this form of worship as a ‘detestable thing.’—Ezekiel 8:13, 14. The Gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John use the Greek word stau·ros′ when referring to the instrument of execution on which Jesus died. (Matthew 27:40; Mark 15:30; Luke 23:26) The word stau·ros′ refers to an upright pole, stake, or post. The book The Non-Christian Cross, by J. D. Parsons, explains: “There is not a single sentence in any of the numerous writings forming the New Testament, which, in the original Greek, bears even indirect evidence to the effect that the stauros used in the case of Jesus was other than an ordinary stauros; much less to the effect that it consisted, not of one piece of timber, but of two pieces nailed together in the form of a cross.” As recorded at Acts 5:30, the apostle Peter used the word xy′lon, meaning “tree,” as a synonym for stau·ros′, denoting, not a two-beamed cross, but an ordinary piece of upright timber or tree. It was not until about 300 years after Jesus’ death that some professed Christians promoted the idea that Jesus was put to death on a two-beamed cross. However, this view was based on tradition and a misuse of the Greek word stau·ros′. It is noteworthy that some ancient drawings depicting Roman executions feature a single wooden pole or tree. A more important issue for true Christians should be the propriety of venerating the instrument used to kill Jesus. Whether it was an upright single torture stake, a cross, an arrow, a lance, or a knife, should such an instrument be used in worship? Suppose a loved one of yours was brutally murdered and the weapon was submitted to the court as evidence. Would you try to gain possession of the murder weapon, take photographs of it, and print many copies for distribution? Would you produce replicas of the weapon in various sizes? Would you then fashion some of them into jewelry? Or would you have these reproductions commercially manufactured and sold to friends and relatives to be venerated? Likely you would be repulsed at the idea! Yet, these very things have been done with the cross! Besides, the use of the cross in worship is no different from the use of images in worship, a practice condemned in the Bible. (Exodus 20:2-5; Deuteronomy 4:25, 26) The apostle John accurately reflected the teachings of true Christianity when he admonished his fellow Christians with the words: “Guard yourselves from idols.” (1 John 5:21) This they did even when it meant facing death in the Roman arena. First-century Christians, however, held the sacrificial death of Christ in high esteem. Likewise today, although the instrument used to torture and kill Jesus is not to be worshipped, true Christians commemorate Jesus’ death as the means by which God provides salvation to imperfect humans. (Matthew 20:28) This superlative expression of God’s love will bring untold blessings to lovers of truth, including the prospect of everlasting life.—John 17:3; Revelation 21:3, 4.
