India Vs China Economy Knowledge Base

India Vs. China economy question? Economists and reports (newspapers) in general keep saying that in the long run India will become the worlds largest and fastest growing economy , and it will rise as a superpower even above china. Most of these economists and reports back this belief by saying that China will have a reduced workforce due to its "One family one child" policy, so the population/workforce will shrink and the already existent people will age and expire. But what makes people think Communist China will stick to this policy? I mean they possibly cant respect their communist values above the love they have for their nation? I don't understand what makes this policy so static? They'll obviously change the policy if the need to compete with India ever arises, correct? Why are economists so bent on making claims as if this policy would be certain for the next 20-40 years?
India vs China economy in this century? Who will have the largest economy by the end of this century?
China vs India economy.Who will have the bigger economy? Both are very fast growing, however at the end, who will have the largest economy?
India vs China (Future Economy,Military)? Right now China is the "big cheese" in Asia no doubt and is on track to becoming the world's largest economy.India is decades behind China in terms of economy but it is also growing at a fast pace.Ultimately, who do you think will have the larger economy (in terms of wealth). China has the better military now,but India isn't far behind.Ultimately (again) who will have the better military in the future?
China vs India Economy? Who will eventually have the larger economy,China or India?
India vs China's Military and Economy? Both have strong militaries/economies but many people put China as having the best military in Asia. 1) Do you think that India's military/economy will surpass China's in the future? 2) Who do you think has the better: Air Force,Navy and Army? 3) Who will win in a conventional war with no allies (India or China)? Here are my thoughts: Air-Force- India Navy-China Army-China Nuclear arsenal-China Overall-China
India,Russia vs China,Pakistan,North Korea,Maoists war? Who would win in a conventional war (no nukes) with no other allied involved? Maoists are rebels in and are active in more than 40% of India.Economy and wealth will also play a part
Which country? India vs. China...? Which country has more economic and military strength? Without a question, it would be India but I hear all these craps about China becoming more advanced and it being 2nd largest economy in the world.
Russia,India vs China,North Korea,Pakistan war? Conventional war (no nuclear weapons),No allies. Also consider economy and wealth to sustain the war
India vs china? WHO WOULD WIN IN CINEMA FIGHT? lol? im not asking about their war, economy, military strength, nothing.... but who made FINEST FILMS among both of them in asia? i mean most excellent CINEMAS in history. NOTE: racists not allowed. just answer my question. i said no racists you HIDEOUS BASTARD.
India vs China conventional war? Scenario is that they get into a border conflict (again). If there was no nukes and allies involved on both sides, who would win the war? Economy and wealth of the countries must also be accounted for
India,Japan,Taiwan vs China,Pakistan war? Scenario: China invades Taiwan after they declare independence,at the same time both Pakistan and China have a border conflict which escalates into a war.Japan intervenes If there are no additional allies and no nuclear weapons can be used, who will win? Deciding factors also include: Geography and economy/wealth of country
WW3 possible scenario: USA+Russia+UK+India+Australia+SouthAmerica Vs China+Japan+Germany+France+PIIGS+Africa? China and japan form the east Asian alliance and decide to share the dream of an Asian empire. China invades Russia and UN refuses to act. Siberia is liberated. Siberia and south east Asia join the east asia alliance as puppet governments of china and japan. Russia decides to counter invade china with the help of India. They fight the chinese at Xinjiang and Tibet. USA fears china's rise and helps the Russians. Europe is torn between helping china or USA. France Germany and PIIGS help china because they have hatred toward the Russians and the USA keeps making the global economy bad. UK helps US because of their history of working together. With the help of most of Europe china is able to defeat the Russians. India shoots an experimental nuclear bomb at china. The non nuclear pact is broken and china launches several nukes at India. India immediately surrenders to china. This is where I need the help of the answerers. Can you tell me what happens next. The non nuclear pact is broken, Europe is in civil war and china is at war with America. What happens next? You decide!
China,Pakistan vs India,Russia war? No nukes no allies. Also take into account economy and wealth
China,Pakistan vs India,Taiwan war? Conventional war and no allies on both sides.Wealth and economy also plays a factor
China,Pakistan,Maoists vs Russia,India war? Conventional war and no allies.Economy and wealth also plays a part
US vs India teens?? Anyone can see a difference. Do you see it too? Just for fun I went to the "Yahoo Answers" forum for region India. Most questions asked there are academic and carreer related, about studies/university/good jobs etc. I see our forums, all I see is my BF this, my GF that, dating, how should I give bj to my BF, my crush, what to look in your date etc. No wonder India is kicking a** when it comes to economy and jobs, I am sure China is the same way. When is our teen going to get serious?
Who would win in this war:India or China ? 1 vs 1 with no nukes.Who would win.Economy and wealth also plays a part
Why is China becoming so powerful? usa vs china? Look at the map & population of Iraq and overlay it on China. USA is in Iraq now for about 7 years & not even near to a solution. Can’t even beat Vietnam for more than 20 years & the Vietnamese were only wearing flipflops & inferior weaponry & cant win the war in Korea. World War 3 ? Who is the Winner? The Top 4 giant military powers in the world, according to their ranking 1. USA 2. Russia 3. China 4. India One thing is common between the 2nd, 3rd and 4th position holder, they all hate the Rank 1. USA. & they got reasons too .. Russia - old rivals in millitary with USA China - Economy rivalry and many issues with american administration India - USA supports Pakistan, which creates a barrier and most importantly they all 3 of them are connected to each other through geographical borders and they are close to each other through BRICS. so is it going to be a a third world war between NATO vs Russia, India, China... give your vote who will win in this WAR ?
Is Pakistan militarily stronger than India ? What;s your Opinion ? Pakistan Vs India ================ Pakistan Strengths - Strong Military / Civil Leadership , Strong Military - No Corruption , Terms of Logistics / Manouverabiltiy/ Training Islamic Ideology Strong Allies - China / USA Islamic Allies - Iran / Afghanistan Weakness - Weak Economy / Strife India - Strengths - Strong Economy , Huge Army manpower , Large Country ===== Weakness - Political Corruption , Weak Political Leadership , Corruption in Defence Procurements / Ministry ( Remember : BOFORS ) , No Allies - Except US ( not even Russia ) , Obsolete Weapons Pakistan does have very strong Allies - all muslim countries ...India is NOT US / or China / Russia if india was so ...Militarily strong...Pakistanis wouldnt be sending Terrorists by a Ton.... Just see Kargil War - We lost around several thousand soldiers - in just 10 days some 1000 soldiers a day . India was illequipped to fight even Pakistani Terrorists - just look at 26/11..They killed more than dozen police officers - more than a 1000 people were killed by 10 terrorists - What did Indian govt do..? Muslims in India vote for Congress - But they are suspected to owe allegiance to Pakistanis & Muslim Ummah - Congress will keep india WEAK Showed their "..Ass.." to Pakistan ...
So is it going to be NATO vs the SCO over the Asian sub continent ? The SCO ? No one in the US has ever heard of that I bet ???? Ah good ole Fox and CNN forgot to tell you that there is a counter weight to NATO The SCO comprises of Russia and China and a few other nations that end in "stan" It's observer states are Iran Pakistan and India India recently dumped it's government in a vote of non confidence over a US arms deal - It was dumped by a vote of no confidence by the Indian Communist party and other independent MP's - I bet FOX and CNN forgot to tell you that too So the US is sending in a humanitarian aid package to Georgia while it maintains a massive fleet off Iran's coast This humanitarian aid is being sent via the military Yep the US is sending in American troops to a combat zone - to hand out blankets ---- They could have sent in anther NATO ally like Canada but they wanted American troops there - Now if an American soldier/aid worker gets killed all hell could break loose in seconds flat - And Georgia has every motive to make sure that happens in order to "make" the Americans defend their nation Control the pipeline running through Georgia and control the Europeans - via that corridor from the east (which has the oil) to the west (which needs that oil) Attack Iran - and control the oil flow to the developing economies of China and India and so on - Control of the sub Continent means making sure Russia is cut off and isolated from selling oil Gas - Russia's main source of income - But then the Russians might fight ? And if they do - fight it will be nuclear - the US blackmails Russia into backing down or risking the planet - And the US dominates all of the developing nations including their chief money lender China - But if Russia fights will the SCO hang with them ?? China knows that if the US dominates the sub Asian Continent that they will be the US puppet for centuries - India will be at the mercy of US corporations and Iran will be an American satellite nation - if it is lucky It seems in the interests of the SCO to fight and to do it soon and to hang together - The SCO vs NATO - world war 3 ? the death of a planet ?
Will India fall finally? 1=> As a democracy, only less than 50% people live in India, the rest live in Bharat ruled by the Kings (leaders). 2=> The leaders we choose are corrupt (i think 70% of them), they only do a job, for money earning. 3=> Youngsters live for fun (no offense but it is true), for girlfriend, for sex, and finally nearly 30% intelligent of them leave India for bright carrier and easy life. 50% of them have attitude problem, on which they are very proud. 4=> Bollywood only copies the originals exactly (from many *woods), and so the music industry does, and we love it, we follow it (Can anyone explain this to me please relative to bollywood, साहित्य समाज का दर्पण है और समाज साहित्य का स्रोत है।), we are inspired by the team working in bollywood, many of us want to be like them (to copy with more perfection) Guys they don't leave computer games even, they copy from them too, we don't get new creations from bollywood, what the F..k are they doing. 5=> The Government is unable to pay less enough to our scientists at ISRO and many other Government science institutes and so, scientists take there leave permanently. 6=> The superiority over other religions from every end is a less lit issue , but it cannot be ignored, it is no one's fault and everyone's fault. 7=> The Almighty Hero Raj Thakre along with Bal Thakre (Secret Plans) is Doing the right thing, in his opinion, f..k the constitution, oops!!! 8=> News Channels are busy Entertaining us. 9=> Pakistan Vs India (Few of my friends say that someone should give them 200 megaton "Nuke".) Inspired by "Angryman" type bollywood superheroes who purges the society from evil "PEOPLE" (again, f..k the constitution, we must be savage to Pakistan "For the rest of the non terrorist Pakistan too"). "F..k the ancient Bhartiya belief of VASUDHAIV KUTUMBKUM which inspired the Ancient Bhartiya Society to Respect, Forgive. because of this belief ancient Bhartiya Rajas never invaded any country." 10=> China Sells its goods illegally to break down our economy but who cares, Chinese mobiles are not expensive and they are more stable than the other known brands. wow! 11=> China claims "Arunchal" because people there are Buddhist. 12=> Bangladeshi refugees want a permanent place or some of them will take it by force. There are many more reasons which I don't remember right now, You might have many reasons too. If you think I am crazy so I will not argue with you on that, but think about it, I know Uncountable reasonable individuals are working hard to keep us close to each other leading us to a supreme India, but is it really enough. The reasons like this lead many countries to an end and the best example is "Bharat". Don't you think this largest democracy is breaking from the inside, or I should say, democracy never actually existed here. Pardon me, if it feels Dramatic. Pardon my English Grammar. And sorry I made it so long.
Up until the 1600s, didn't Asia always retain huge amounts of wealth? China and India represented 30% and 15% of the global economy respectively prior to British colonization (murdering and looting of Ind/Chi). http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/21_11_08_2025_Global_Trends_Final_Report.pdf The riches in Asia were incomparably greater than in European states. In matters of credit, transfer of funds, insurance, and cartels, neither India nor China had anything to learn from Europe. Yes, Europe became increasingly successful during the Industrial Revolution in the 1700s, 1800s, and 1900s, but that's a mere 300 years vs India's and China's 2000+ years of vast wealth. Asia has always retained huge amounts of wealth, prior to British colonization. Why are, then, most people surprised to see the shift in power from the West to the East? Equilibrium has always belonged in Asia. Please keep this discussion professional. I will report any arrogant/racist comments.
Hypothetical war scenario Russia vs Japan? Okay to start off, this is pure speculation,im well aware that such war is extremely unlikely so im not really looking for people saying "oh it will never happen" this is not ment to disrespect anyone or ether one of these great countries its just a question on strategic points of view, what ether side would do to defend or attack what resources or technology would be the turning point of the conflict, estimated amount of casualties on ether side and the wars aftermath. Now for some time after the fall of soviet union Russian forces faced cut budget, corruption and there forces suffered from lack of maintenance but now after Putin and then Medvedevs reign they seem to be returning on there place of worlds superpower and the last conflict they had with Georgia that usa backed and trained proofed they are prepared and capable of an invasion if there interests are being hurt.Similarly the Japan is trying to reclaim the islands that belonged to them before the end of world war 2 Kurils islands that have Russian citizens living there, while so far very diplomatic hypothetically they could occupy the islands and start the war, unlike the Georgia who mostly had left over soviet tech no navy and very limited trained forces,Japan ranks from what I read third most powerful navy, there air-force and radars are also superb so I don't believe the war will end as quickly and as easy for Russians. Nukes, obviously Russians have alot and there advances in ballistics are second to none, tho I personaly don't believe they will use them in war with Japan in fear of international backlash, and fallout they will create too close to there own borders and china borders not to mention Japan has none and it wouldn't be justified, but if anyone thinks otherwise id love to hear your thoughts. Allies,Japan being one of the key pieces of world economy even now after the terrible crisis due to tsunami and reactor accident they endured,so they would most likely be backed by united states but will united states commit military force or just supplies?in case with Georgia also an ally of usa they didn't do much to help at all, while European union will most likely back Russians or stay neutral due to there dependency on Russia on natural resources and economy crisis in Greece taking immense resources there barely staying afloat, other countries such as China,India and the middle east counties I really don't know,i think it would depend on what agreements they share with japan? Anyhow these are some of my thoughts on the war im really looking forwards to reading the replies, and if you don't agree with something i wrote on top please correct me,Especially looking forward if anyone with actual military experience could offer there opinions and a basic timeline on how such war would proceed
Legal vs Ilegal Immigration? Okay, I'm illegal because the broken immigration process has me in limbo for 28 yrs. They call the "legal" way an unworkable and obsolete set of rules from different times and purposes that perhaps in some cases where created with good intentions but when applied together don't work to the advantage of the country. I'm being deported now. What will happen? Well the business that I partially own will dissolve, 10 people (many US citizens, many with kids and families) will loose their jobs. I also lead the technology dept. on another company. Our field is so competitive that if we blink, the competition will pass us. The interruption caused by my departure more likely will result in the closing of our branch (35 other high skilled US jobs) and the outsourcing of the whole department to India. The US is also loosing on my taxes, etc. It is not too hard to understand that all kind of services and products are getting more expensive here and that good paying jobs have and will leave by the millions. Is Ross Perot all over again, while he pointed the attention to the "giant sucking sound (lol, hard working Mexicans and other immigrants taking a few hundred jobs mostly low skilled or creating their own small businesses)" was in fact a little "hiss" compared to all the jobs (and cutting edge technology) that was silently being shipped to China and India and other places by the millions, nothing wrong with that, as a business man I understand those pressures and these countries are doing many things right. Millions of good jobs in manufacturing and services are now gone for good and the US is loosing competitiveness for not being so welcoming to the best hardworking people from all over the world that only want to move here to do the best they can to grow this country's economy. The most expensive labor and brain power gets here in the US, the more companies will leave in a heartbeat. US will loose competitiveness and the few US products left will have a hard time competing in the world markets. Now do we want to kick out and prevent these hard working peaceful people that for the majority share the same religious, moral, family and other values with the US? Yes let's do that so the best paid jobs (or the capital to afford them) leave to other nations. Let's make those nations stronger, those places where culture and political views may be a lot different and more conflictive with the US views where potential conflicts can arise easily while the world's power is shifted to them. Maybe the world will look at them better, at least they are not building fences to keep their best neighbors out or kicking them out. Will future history books tell the story of how did the US got to be the strongest nation at some point in time? Wasn’t it because it welcomed the hard working, the brightest and all of those with desire of becoming the best? And then what happened? Why they did away with all those blessings? Now, do those senators have a clue when they say; "we do welcome those that immigrate the Right Way”? NO, they don't. There is no such thing as a "Right Way" for many of us. Ask me, I have done everything right by the book and I'm about to be expelled from here after close to 30 yrs of red tape in immigration limbo with contradictory laws and obsolete procedures that are unfair (there are many holes and if you are valuable and do things right still may not make it). I really hope that not one of my employees or coworkers about to loose their job is a parent of all of you posting against immigrants. Me, I'll manage anywhere, I just got to really like this country and many of their citizens, thank god the majority that I know still are some of the greatest most welcoming peoples I have met and are very opposed to what their system is doing to us. Unfortunatelly my kids will have to leave their country. By the way, I entered legally with a visa. and while I have stayed here I had legal work permits from immigration. this just proofs that there is not such thing as "Legal" immigration, the sytem rewards some and punishes some because is broken some people cheat the system and get papers the easy way, but if you do it by the book like me, It doesn't work.

Economy on the BRIC's? Can anyone tell me about the merits of GNI per capita vs. the idea of purchasing power using human development as indictors for the economic potential of Brazil, Russia, china and India?
What is our national debt? Look at some interesting facts, these are the percentage of borrowing over national GDP, most of these are estimates for 2009 as per CIA fact book: United States 52.90% United Kingdom 68.50% Russia 6.90% France 79.70% Brazil 46.80% Singapore 117.60% Pakistan 45.30% India 59.60% https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2186rank.html The numbers that surprised me are, Pakistan Vs. India. And India Vs. many so called developed nations. I intentionally excluded China because of the currency manipulation by the government. There numbers are reliable. Before anyone jumps to any conclusion about Indian debts, I would like to mentions something, we are still safe because India govt owes to its own people unlike United States, Greece or Iceland or any other country. Most of this debt is what Indian government owes to Indian people in form of government bonds, deposits, equities etc. India govt have full control in their debt. Americans at present have no problem them because they hold their debt in USD. US Govt can print USD and wash off their hand off or devalue the dollar. India has its own massive economy which consumes everything it produces unlike Chinese where they have to look for other countries to sell their products. India will be the super power of the future. No doubt. I'm waiting for that day for lungi dance. And God willing I will see that day in my life. And this is not a political statement, but this statement comes right from my heart. MR, Lungi dance means Punjabi dance. This term is often used by one of my friend who is a Sikh. This is just a term used a synonym used by me as "Happy dance" nothing more than that. I am adding following details from one of my YA friend who sent me email on my question: Dude....good we will become superpower in the next decade ,it is general prediction by many experts . Public debt can nevr become a serious problem for the governments because we can repay it by printing currency (if required) or we can convert them into low interest bonds or we can pay them from sinking fund http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/roadmap-in-6-months-to-cut-public-debt-pranab/19/16/87106/on ...the problem for us is external debt which we have to pay from foreign exchange reserves...I think our external debt is around 250 billion dollars. http://www.rbi.org.in/scripts/BS_PressReleaseDisplay.aspx?prid=20940 our forex reserves are around 270 billion dollars RW, thanks for letting us know that you are not big shot into economics... And I agree with you. But you can read articles on internet to understand these simple facts so that you don't fun of you on public forum. Think about it in your free time. Sudan, same comment as RSS warrior.
Can "carbon taxing" actually result in more CO2? According to the US EIA (a division of the Dept. Of Energy) 90% of all future CO2 emissions will come from developing Asia. Even if anthropogenic Co2 contributes significantly to global warming (many scientists think that it does not – http://www.petitionproject.org/ ), what good will come from wrecking the American economy forever. Supply vs demand will undo any short term good which comes from America's reduction in the use of fossil fuels. Take coal for example. If coal usage in the US falls as a result of carbon taxing schemes, the demand for coal will fall and therefore the price will fall in the short run. As the price drops in the US, foreign demand will increase. Yes Virginia, coal is an easily exported commodity. Therefore, China, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe etc.. will have less incentive to pursue other energy options such as nuclear, solar, wind etc.. Those economies will quickly consume all of the incremental coal which is not being burned in the US as a result of carbon taxing. FYI for the uninformed, currently India and China alone combined consume 50% more coal than do all of North America and Europe "combined". If this issue was left to the “market place” for resolution, it is really very likely that less coal would be burned in the future if the price of coal was simply allowed to rise as a result of increased demand. Knowing that coal prices could ultimately double is exactly the incentive needed by India and China to increase their investments in nuclear, solar, wind, hydro etc.. The hysteria over coal in the US (the country with the world's largest coal reserves) will surely result only in China and India modifying their energy plans to include more coal and less "other". PS, based on their energy plans it is apparent that the governments of India and China believe that AGW is utter nonsense. The driver for their energy policies is driven 100% by economic reasoning so they have absolutely no incentive to modify their energy policies and retard the growth of their economies to reduce the use of fossil fuels simply because leftist Western enviro-tards mistakenly believe that they should. http://www.opposingviews.com/articles/opinion-obama-s-carbon-dioxide-restrictions-are-costly-and-pointless-r-1243528927 According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s economic forecasting model, a 70% cut in carbon dioxide emissions will cause gasoline prices to rise 77% over baseline projections, will cause electricity prices to more than double over baseline projections, will kill more than 3 million jobs versus baseline projections, and will reduce average household income by more than $4,000 each and every year.
China's One child policy: what's a good research angle? I am planning on writing a research essay on China's one child policy and I am curious if you guys have some interesting and specific questions/opinions about this controversial policy. Few I could come up with are: The social impact on Chinese females, the long term vs. the short term impacts, the implementation of similar policies in other countries in the future (especially India), it's impact on abortions and cultural values, or even it's impact on the international economy. Feel free to inject opinions along with your questions. (btw... I am not looking for questions like "was the one child policy good?")

Why do people not realize how the media is manipulating them? It's got nothing to do with left vs. right. Left vs. right is a false paradigm, and a manufactured controversy designed to divide us amongst ourselves. As of two weeks ago, we are at war. Not with any nation-state, for all nation-states are the enemy of our enemy - which is a cabal of fascist, globalist, neo-feudalist international financiers. Their goal is to destroy the real, physical economy of the US and other nations through financial speculation, war, and fiscal austerity. Their end objective is to divide and conquer nations, to impoverish the public, and to reduce the world's population by billions in order to usher in a new era of global feudalism. Those expressing unwarranted hate for liberals or conservatives are being had. This is not a conflict between liberalism and conservatism, it is a conflict between civilization and fascism, with President Obama finally firing the opening salvo against the fascists not long ago. Among the notable events surrounding this conflict thus far: - Obama's snub of fascist and neo-feudalist Gordon Brown. - His termination of the "special relationship" between the UK and US, which was really an institution of neo-imperialism. - His speech today, in which he said: "This crisis is a result of reckless speculation and spending beyond our means; on bad credit and inflated home prices and overleveraged banks. Such activity isn’t the creation of lasting wealth, it’s the illusion of prosperity, and it hurts us all in the end." - His plans to rebuild the US physical economy from the ground up - not through and by inflating a new speculative bubble (much to the consternation of Fuhrer Pelosi), but by real investment in fixed capital. - Sec. Clinton's visits to Russia, India and China to rally support for civilization, and with whom we find ourselves allied with against the genocidal imperialists on Wall Street, in the City, and which comprise the British government. Indeed, civilization itself is at stake. Will people wake up now, at long last? How can they not see how they're being manipulated?
Why is America struggling to realize that our future may not simply "recover" as it has in the past? America is struggling to realize that the next phase of America may not be what we have come to expect throughout our lifetime. It can happen. As we fight daily over Left vs. Right, and GOP vs. Cons, companies are reporting record profits. They are sitting on record Cash reserves or investing in other economies because that's where new 21st century population growth and consumer demand now resides. The rich are richer than ever before and they are not putting their money back into America. The top 400 richest Americans have more money than 150 million other Americans. There is no demand. A majority of new jobs are now going overseas with these companies and they are not coming back in any large numbers. IBM, Cisco, Intel may layoff 65,000 or 40,000 or 20,000 American workers here but many of those positions are just re-created in India, China, the Philippines, etc... America may need to re-adjust its future expectations.
Democrats or Republicans: Read the details before answering!? CHOOSE A OR B: A: Republicans will decrease taxes on corporations. Fact: America has the SECOND HIGHEST corporation tax in the world. This is a reason many companies are outsourcing to China and India. If these companies were in the United States, there would be more jobs, stronger economy, and faster growth. B: Democrats will lower healthcare costs and income taxes on low to middle income familes. In order to pay the difference, they will increase taxes on corportation and the wealthy. This will lead to more companies outsourcing, but will also lead to an increase in quality of life to many Americans. Which do you think is better? I am not talking about Democrats vs Republicans as a whole, I am talking about this SPECIFIC debate.
Before we bail out the automakers shouldn't the U.S. Congress mandate a G.E.M. Flex green vehicle strategy? ? In the Chicago Tribune (Obama's Home Town Paper?) we read: Food vs. fuel a global myth By Robert Zubrin and Gal Luft May 6, 2008 In recent weeks, a flood of reports and statements has claimed that the world's biofuel programs—in particular the U.S. corn ethanol effort—is starving poor people around the globe. Even the UN's special rapporteur for the Right to Food decried biofuel production as "a crime against humanity." It seems so obvious: With so much corn being turned into fuel, food shortages must inevitably result, and biofuel programs must be the cause. However, that's completely untrue. Here are the facts. In the last five years, despite the nearly threefold growth of the corn ethanol industry (or actually because of it), the U.S. corn crop grew by 35 percent, the production of distillers grain (a high-value animal feed made from the protein saved from the corn used for ethanol) quadrupled and the net corn food and feed product of the U.S. increased 26 percent. Contrary to claims that farmers have cut other crops to grow more corn, U.S. soybean plantings this year are expected to be up 18 percent and wheat plantings up 6 percent. U.S. farm exports are up 23 percent. America is clearly doing its share in feeding the world. Agriculture is not a zero-sum game. There are 800 million acres of farmland in the U.S., and only about 30 percent of it is actually being used to grow anything. As a result of the ethanol program, the corn price received by farmers doubled over the last five years, causing a huge increase in the amount grown in terms of acreage and yield. The increased demand for food from the hundreds of millions of people in China and India rising out of poverty and moving to a more calorie-rich diet affects the price of food the most. Second is the price of fuel. Higher fuel prices increase the cost of production, transport, wages and packaging, the main cost of retail food. For example, a $3 box of cornflakes contains 15 ounces of corn that cost 8 cents when bought from the farmer. So, farm commodity prices have almost no effect on retail prices. But the effect of oil price increases can be huge. Which brings us to the real culprit: the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. This year, with OPEC-rigged oil prices exceeding $100 a barrel, the U.S. will pay $800 billion for its oil supply, and the world as a whole will pay $3.2 trillion. These figures are both up a factor of 10 from what they were in 1999 and represent a huge regressive tax on the world economy. In this, biofuels have done more good than damage to the poor. According to Merrill Lynch analysts, without biofuel programs, the price of oil would be about $13 a barrel higher than it now is. A $13 savings for each barrel could save the U.S. $65 billion in foreign oil payments. So, rather than shut down biofuel programs, we need to radically augment them, to the point where we can take down the oil cartel. Congress can make this happen by passing a law requiring that all new cars sold in the U.S. be flex-fuel vehicles that can run on any combination of gasoline, ethanol or methanol. The technology costs only about $100 per vehicle. By making America a flex-fuel vehicle market, we will effectively make flex-fuel the international standard. Around the world, gasoline would be forced to compete against alcohol fuels made from a number of sources, including not only commercial crops such as corn and sugar, but cellulosic ethanol made from crop residues and weeds, as well as methanol made from any kind of biomass, coal, natural gas and recycled urban trash. By creating such a fuel market, we can enormously expand and diversify humanity's fuel resource base, protecting all nations from continued economic bleeding and, indeed, in some cases, starvation. That, and not blindly accepting the naysayers' propaganda demanding the preservation of the oil monopoly, should be our course. Robert Zubrin is the author of "Energy Victory: Winning the War on Terror by Breaking Free of Oil." Gal Luft is executive director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security. They are members of the Set America Free Coalition. In the Journal of Energy Security we read: China Takes Gold in Methanol Fuel In 2007 China surpassed Japan as the world’s second largest importer of oil behind the United States. Yet it is not sitting idly by content with increasing oil imports. According to U.S. Methanol Institute President & CEO John Lynn, “China is showing the rest of the world how clean transportation fuels can be made from coal.” Methanol is now a strategic transportation fuel in China and the rest of the world should take note. Call your senator and demand a GEM Flex mandate.
Indians are trained to have inferiority complex? by inferiority complex, i mean relative to anything the West or white people do. they don't seem to have inferiority complex vis a vis africans or southeast asians - they behave arrogantly with these ppl. but westerners, and arabs, yes Indians definitely feel and act as they are inferior to them. much has to do with 1000 yrs of subjugation by both arabs and whites, but it's been 60 yrs since independence and still nothing has changed. the complex vis a vis arabs is also seen in hindu-muslim relations in India. any muslim who acts, behaves, or claims that he's an arab is given a lot of respect and admiration by both hindus and other muslims. it is seen that marrying an arab is a status symbol amongst indian muslims, and claiming descent from arabs is a big thing. likewise marrying a white (mostly man) is seen as moving up in this world by hindus. possibly the effects of subjugation are taking a long time to be erased and diminished. contrast this with other former subjects around the world. Africans have long shed their inferiority complex vs the West and are now respected worldwide for it. the fact that RSA hosted the fifa world cup is a sign of this, and things will keep moving in that direction. southeast asians shed their complex when they became tiger economies, and the ASEAN group as is much abt regional harmony as about standing up to the West. in fact, ASEAN is the world's strongest group of 'small' nations. it is next to EU in power. most other former subjects have also overcome colonization in their own ways. only Indians, a disparate group of tribes living in a geographic area, numbering 1 billion, are yet to get rid of the baggage. a famous African man remarked that "Indians are socialized to appreciate and have affinity towards their former oppressors". well said! now India is being used by the West as a bulwark to China, and will soon be forced to fight a suicidal war with China...which will destroy India completely. maybe after the destruction, the few Indians that're left will wake up and shed their complex... correction - famous African man said "Indians are the ONLY group of people who are socialized to appreciate and have affinity towards their former oppressors"! also, I am Indian origin, so no accusations of ignorance/being an outsider.
Who would win in a war? NATO vs. SCO = USA vs CHINA? Look at the map & population of Iraq and overlay it on China. USA is in Iraq now for about 7 years & not even near to a solution. Can’t even beat Vietnam for more than 20 years & the Vietnamese were only wearing flipflops & inferior weaponry & cant win the war in Korea. China shot down a US sattelite and US didnt even respond. ist because we know that arguing & making war with china can get our *** kick? China has an active army of 2,250,000. With 342,956,265 males and 324,701,244 females standing by and they're advancing in technology rapidly! USA got NATO while China got the SCO, = , Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan & future members are Mongolia, India, Pakistan & Iran We are billions of $ in debt to China & some say that China has the power to have the US economy collapse faster than the US can launch a nuke. things = made in china. do you think china would become a super power again after its dynasty periods? Is the Sleeping giant awaken?

Why is the US ECONOMY so slow? China and India are blowing us away as well as Europe and Japan. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070905/un_us_economy.html?.v=2
Building the economy from the top down or the bottom up? It seems that Obama v. McCain economic platforms come down to building the economy from the either the bottom up (Obama) or the top down (McCain). It would seem that the tax rebates and stimulus checks that we got under the Bush administration lends a certain air of credibility to the "bottom up" theory - give more money to the lower and middle classes who then go out and purchase the good provided by corporate American which increases their profit margins or at least maintains them - but what evidence do we have that trickle down economics can work in 2008? I'm not advocating either candidate because there are gapping holes in both of their proposals but my question is, in a world that is so much smaller, what motivation would a company have to reinvest in American families? Trickle down worked very well in the past because companies were built and maintained in the United States. Now, these companies are shipping jobs off to India and China because we cannot compete with their labor costs here not to mention illegal immigration undercutting American labor. Maybe someone has a better understanding than I do? Thoughts? I'm all for the free market but I would argue that it no longer exists. The government had no choice but to bail out Fannie and Freddie and these two entities were quasi-government entities to begin with. We live in an economy where the well being of 300 million people is predicated on the success or failure of comparatively few companies. As such, the government almost has to bail them out. When the real free market existed, things were far more localized and there was an ebb and flow but that no longer exists. We sold out our local economies and a true free market so that we could save three dollars on laundry detergent.
Recession : With War or Without it ? Isrel vrs Iran// War - and US?? Recession: With War or Without It? by Gary North by Gary North DIGG THIS The world's economy has been in growth mode at least since 1991. China has been in growth mode since 1979. The American economy had a sharp recession in 1991. Asia had a financial crisis in 1998. America had a very brief, very shallow recession in 2001. The Federal Reserve System pumped in money at an accelerating rate after mid-2000 through 2004, and did not go to tight money until the month Bernanke took over: February 2006. Inflation overcame the recession of 2001, and it overcame the crisis of 9/11, but it created the housing bubble and the commodity bubble. The housing bubble has popped. This is going to take the price of housing in the United States lower than it is today. I think 20% lower is a conservative figure. We are nowhere near the end of this popped bubble. The commodity bubble is still in full force. It is a worldwide bubble. The price of energy and the price of rice and other food commodities have received most of the attention. Federal Reserve policy since early 2006 has been one of relatively stable money. There is a lot of chatter to the contrary, but if we look at the two most significant monetary indicators, the adjusted monetary base and M1, we see that there has been very little growth in either. This is why the United States is now either in a recession or is facing one in the next few months. When a period of monetary inflation ends, economies go into recession. The American economy is slowing down, and it will continue to slow down. Both China and India have expanded their money supplies dramatically for a decade. Both countries are now facing a crisis of rising prices. Price inflation is a major threat to the continued prosperity of both countries. China's government has begun to impose selective price controls. This is creating shortages and production bottlenecks. India's government is considering doing the same thing. What both governments need to do is to tell their central banks to cease buying all government debt and all assets of any kind. The central banks need to stop inflating the money supply. But if the banks do this, both countries will experience major recessions. The governments do not want to have major recessions, but they also do not want to experience the effects of monetary inflation: price inflation. So, both of them are tempted to go back to the traditional policy of imposing price controls. This always creates shortages, and it always reduces the rate of growth of the economy. China and India are trapped. AN INTERNATIONAL TRAP The United States is in the same trap. The headlines scream of the skyrocketing costs of energy and food, but the broader consumer price indexes indicate slow increases: maybe 3% a year. This is because families are readjusting their budgets. As the prices of gasoline and food rise, families are forced to cut back expenditures in other areas. So, the general price indexes are not rising dramatically, but families are struggling with their budgets. This struggle will get much worse this winter, when the price of heating oil rises. This will exacerbate the existing economic slowdown. Furthermore, the rising price of oil means a rising balance of payments deficit for the United States. Oil-exporting countries are the main beneficiaries of the rising price of oil. This means that foreign sellers of oil will get the lion's share of the increase of the price of oil. American producers will pay for the prosperity of the oil exporting countries. They will pay in the form of reduced demand for their products. The world is facing simultaneous recession. Meanwhile, the American financial system has absorbed hundreds of billions of dollars of IOUs from home buyers who cannot possibly pay off their debts. They are in the process of defaulting to the lenders. This has created a crisis for America's largest banks, and for several major European banks. We all know the story by now, but psychologically, most Americans have not adjusted to the new economic reality. Most investors have not adjusted. Yes, the American stock market is down by 20% since last October. But still they think a recovery is just around the corner. The media keep saying this. American investors still have faith that the economy is essentially healthy, that there will not be a continuing fall in the stock market, and that the economy will not go into recession and stay in the recession for two or more years. So far, I am giving you the good news. The good news is there is going to be an international recession, rising corporate bankruptcies, bank failures, and retrenchment by consumers because they can no longer pay the rising cost of energy. Why is this good news? Because this recession is going to put a cap on the rising cost of energy. Commodity prices will fall during the recession; this includes the price of oil. NO MORE FISCAL WIGGLE ROOM Americans have steadily stopped saving over the last 28 years. In 1981, they saved over 11% of their discretionary income. Today, they save nothing. They are now in full spending mode. They have borrowed money against their future income, against their home equity, and on simple promises to pay (signature loans: credit cards). They have stretched themselves thin with respect to debt. If oil goes to $400 a barrel, or $500 a barrel, and stays there for a year, American consumers will be in panic mode. They will have to cut their budgets, and they have forgotten how to cut their budgets. They have forgotten how to save. The strategy of the optimists is to tell us that the worst is over economically. This is the government's official position. Chairman Ben Bernanke does not say this. He keeps hinting of more trouble to come. He keeps telling us that the Federal Reserve System is monitoring events. He keeps implying that there is some sort of rabbit still remaining in the Federal Reserve System's hat which they can pull out if the banking system moves into paralysis mode. But he doesn't tell us what these rabbits are, or under what conditions the FED will pull them out of its hat. The good news regarding the economy in general is not backed up by anything specific. The government tells us that the worst is over, but there are almost no indications that the worst is over. The housing market is still in decline. Foreclosures are still rising rapidly. The lenders are not selling foreclosed properties at market prices. Instead, they keep buying back the properties. There is a growing inventory of unsold properties on the books of the lenders. Meanwhile the two major sources of liquidity for the housing market, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are verging on bankruptcy. On Wednesday, July 9, the stock price of Freddie Mac dropped by 23%. Yet its stock price was down over 50% since January. These two stocks have continued to fall. Everywhere we look on the horizon of the domestic economy, there is bad news. There is no sector of the economy that is improving, unless it is heavily funded by the Federal government. Health care has not slumped, because health care as funded by Medicare and other state and local government programs. This means that the Federal deficit is going to get worse in any recession. Medicare and Social Security are non-discretionary spending items. The revenues will fall. So, the supposed strength sectors of the economy are in fact guarantees of a government fiscal crisis. If the general economy slumps, the Federal deficit is likely to go over $500 billion a year. When the recession hits, commodity prices will fall. If the recession does not hit, commodity prices will continue to rise. But rising commodity prices will force bankruptcies in those firms that are not in a position to pass on increased costs to their consumers. This means industries associated with discretionary spending. If your company is dependent upon discretionary spending by the public, your job is at risk. If the recession hits, your company will suffer. If the recession doesn't hit, rising commodity prices will squeeze your company. Consumers will spend their money for gasoline and heating oil, not on the products or services your company produces. The boom economy has not been based primarily on non-discretionary income. The boom has come at the margin: those areas of the economy in which consumers do have the option of spending their money rather than saving it. So far, I have been giving you the good news. The good news is there is going to be an international recession, rising corporate bankruptcies, bank failures, and retrenchment by consumers because they can no longer pay the rising cost of energy. THE BAD NEWS The bad news is that the State of Israel is increasingly likely to launch an air strike on suspected Iranian nuclear weapons production facilities. I have discussed this before. If this happens, the price of oil will skyrocket. This will force massive readjustments of family budgets in every country on a permanent basis. This is going to force producers to fire people out of fear of bankruptcy. Consumers are going to stop buying much in the area of discretionary income. That is, those items that can be cut back will be cut back. This could mean you. If the State of Israel launches an attack on Iran, the economic news will get really bad really fast all over the world. So, the most important question today is whether or not the Israeli Air Force will attack Iran. From an economic standpoint, this is the crucial question. Here, too, the mainstream media have generally promoted optimism. They suggest that the Israelis will not attack Iran. The problem is, they can't point to anything specific that officials in the State of Israel have said that indicates that there will not be an attack. On the contrary, officials there keep saying "no comment." Something else is really ominous. The political leaders in the countries over which Israeli bombers will have to fly are deadly silent. They are not telling Israel in full public view that if Israel sends planes over their airspace, they will go to war with Israel. They are not saying that they are preparing right now to shoot down every Israeli plane that flies over their airspace. They are saying nothing. Why? I think the main reason is that they will not back up their words with deeds. They will not shoot down Israeli planes. They say nothing in public because they will do nothing if the overflights take place. If they go public with bellicose threats today, their own people will turn on them if they fail to back up their words with deeds if the flights take place. "You said you would do something. You did nothing. Get out!" This could start internal revolutions in the overflown countries. Silence is golden. It's yellow, but it's golden. This tells me that the overflight countries' leaders think the attack may take place. They would prefer to be accused of having been caught flat-footed by the Israeli Air Force than unwilling to back up a threat. American officials are offering the bipartisan line: "We must settle this through diplomacy." (To which Israeli government officials can respond, Tonto-like: "Who you mean we, paleface?") They are not saying anything about what sanctions against the State of Israel that America will impose as soon as Israeli jets bomb Iran. That is because there will be no such sanctions. Admiral Mullen supposedly sent Israel a statement in early July saying that the United States has not issued a green light for an Israeli attack on Iran. This supposedly means something important in itself. It means nothing in itself. What it means is the United States has not issued a red light against an Israeli attack on Iran. This means that there is no stop sign. There is no red light, so the absence of a green light means nothing. Of course no one has said that the United States will help Israel in such an attack. So what? Israeli officials are not asking for a public offer of American help. If the United States and those governments over which the Israeli Air Force must fly are not issuing public statements at this time warning that there will be significant negative sanctions imposed on the State of Israel as soon as the attack is launched, then this is an implied green light. Do we imagine that senior decision-makers in the Israeli government care a whit about the lack of an official American green light to their attack on Iran? They are as unconcerned about the lack of a green light as Iran is unconcerned about President Bush's threat of sanctions if Iran does not comply with all requirements announced by the Bush administration. Iran knows what Israel knows: the Bush administration is terminal. It will end on January 20, 2009. It has no teeth. Lame ducks don't bite. They merely squawk. Why should we think that either Iran or Israel gives a fig about the red light/green light debate? American pundits may think this debate is important, but why should anyone with common sense think it's important? TIMETABLES Iraq has announced that the United States must pull out its troops. It is demanding dates for this withdrawal. The Bush administration is pooh-poohing all this, and will not under any circumstances announce such a timetable, but so what? There is a timetable for the Bush administration's withdrawal: January 20, 2009. This means that the United States is going to be pressured by Iraq's government to leave Iraq from now on. Most of the troops will be forced to leave Iraq unless things change dramatically. Then what will be done with the 14 major military bases that have been built? As the pressure increases to force us to leave Iraq, and as the pressure from the Taliban increases in Afghanistan, and as the pressure from voters increases to get our troops out of both countries, and as the likelihood of the election of Obama increases, decision-makers in the State of Israel are caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. If the United States pulls out of the region, the State of Israel will be left high and dry. But there is another possible scenario. If Iran's surrogate Shia forces in the region take on the United States troops in reaction to an Israeli attack on Iran, American public opinion will swing in favor of keeping the troops there, no matter what. "Who do those Iranians think they are? We issued no green light to the Israelis. It's not our fault." If Iran begins to supply weapons to Shia forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the American death rate goes up, then American voters will switch back to a pro-war position. At least, this is a possibility. Americans do not like to be pushed around. Any escalation of war in the region will create havoc for the supply of oil. The world economy is moving into recession already; it may go into a true depression if oil goes to $500 and stays there. So, the stakes are enormous. The outcome is no longer in the hands of the United States, Europe, Asia, or any of the other outsiders to the Middle East. The outcome, or at least the trigger, is completely in the hands of the decision-makers in the State of Israel. They hold the gun. Unless the United States and Western Europe tell the decision-makers in the State of Israel that Europe and the United States will impose significant negative sanctions after an attack on Iran, then decision-makers there are going to make a decision based on the self-interest of the ruling party, not the self-interest of American or European voters. They are going to take care of their perceived problem, exactly as we would expect any other national political leaders would take care of their problem. That's why all talk about war being a threat to the self-interest of the whole makes sense only if the Israelis conclude that the economic crisis will be so severe that it will take them down in the whirlpool of economic collapse. They are not afraid of military retaliation from Iran. They are also not afraid of the United States, Europe, Asia, or any other coalition that does not have the backbone to say in advance that there will be major sanctions placed on the State of Israel if there is an attack on Iran. This is why I am concerned about the threat of an Israeli attack on Iran. I am in no way calmed by statements attributed to Admiral Mullen. When Admiral Mullen holds a press conference and says publicly that there is no green light for an attack by the Israeli Air Force on Iran, and that any flyover of Iraq by Israeli planes will lead to shoot downs of Israeli planes by American planes, then I will stop worrying about the threat of an attack on Iran by the Israeli Air Force. How likely do you think such a press conference is? We must face reality: the decision to go to war with Iran is 100% in the hands of Israeli decision-makers. It is not in the hands of the United States, Europe, or Asia. In other words, the economic fate of the West over the next decade is now in the hands of decision-makers who are concerned about the long-term survival of their own country. They are concerned because they do not want to have Iran in the possession of nuclear weapons. Both candidates for President have said the same thing. We have seen saber-rattling by the Iranians with the film-doctored test of the missiles this week. These missiles are militarily useless as weapons against the Israelis. They are as irrelevant militarily as Germany's V-2 missiles were in 1945. They cannot inflict enough damage to make a difference, unless they are used against Saudi Arabian oil fields. But, if they had a nuclear warhead, that would make all the difference. The Israelis know this. So, they are going to make their decision in terms of this long-term threat. The main inhibition against an attack is the possible collapse of the Western economy, which buys Israeli-produced goods. This threat may be sufficient to keep them from attacking. I dearly hope that it is. But it is naïve to believe that they are going to make their decision because of worries about whether Admiral Mullen has issued a green light or not. CONCLUSION When you invest your money, do not ignore the worst-case scenario. Set aside some of your money on the assumption that the worst-case will come true. This is what any military strategist does. He makes his decisions in terms of what the enemy can do, not what it would be convenient for the enemy to do. I suggest that you be aware of this threat. I suggest that you sit down with the family budget and outline what your response would be if the price of gasoline were $10 a gallon or $15 a gallon or $20 a gallon. What would you do? I know what you would do. You would drive less. Ignore the happy-face assessments of the geopolitical strategists. Ignore the happy-face assessment of the Secretary of the Treasury, Henry "Goldman Sachs" Paulson. These assessments are being issued to keep panic from spreading. I am doing my best to encourage people to take rational steps with some of their liquid assets: to hedge themselves against the possibility that there will be an attack on Iran before January 20, 2009. This doesn't mean that I think such an attack is a sure thing. Decision-makers in the State of Israel are going to have to live with $400 oil, just like all the rest of us. They may decide that this risk is too great. They may decide to put up with the threat of a future nuclear-armed Iran. I won't bet all of my money on this. I don't think you should either. Posted By: shaista @ 03/01/2008 5:36:46 AM Comment: THE lunch hosted by Mr Asif Zardari for the newly elected members of the three leading parties on Feb 27 may well be remembered as a landmark in the long awaited transition to a democratic dispensation in Pakistan. The squalls that rocked the state on Oct 12, 1999 and in the form of the 17th amendment inflicted much damage. Then, the catastrophe of Nov 3 put all salvaging efforts beyond the capacity of any single party. The existing distortions in that historic but half-alive Constitution present a nightmare and demand the exercise of the highest form of political wisdom and legal expertise. The process of eliminating them by creating a new interface between politics and law has just begun. Pakistan???s present crisis is characterised by the bitter harvest of constitutional violations, growing imbalance between a power-hungry centre and the handicapped federating units, uncontrollable violence by ever-proliferating bands of extremists and, above all, by a rapidly rising table of sub-surface social anger at glaring inequalities of income and opportunity. A reasonably broad-based coalition government may provide a healing touch. There is no great virtue in a two-party system anymore as, for quite some time to come, regional aspirations will deepen particular identities of the constitutive elements of a diverse nation. The greatest achievement of the three top leaders present at Mr Zardari???s lunch is that they successfully persuaded their followers that these identities were perfectly compatible with an overarching national identity. Scratch the surface and lurking just beneath the protest against the humiliation of the higher judiciary and repeated violations of the Constitution is a palpable anguish of poverty and deprivation. Pakistan must eschew politics of vendetta but that does not mean that every crime against the state and society be brushed under the carpet. It needs a high-powered Commission on Truth, Justice and Reconciliation in the interest of historical accuracy and to build dykes for future security. We need to replace mercenary relations with relations based on mutual respect, community of interests and coordinated pursuit of common objectives within our respective national parameters. A strong and stable national coalition can be built around the present understanding between the PPP, PML-N and ANP. The US-led West should welcome it and not undermine it as it alone can make Pakistan???s battle against militant extremists effective The west should to withdraw their support from the one Musharaf who loathed by the people at maximum Posted By: shaista @ 03/01/2008 5:07:40 AM Comment: THE results of the election that took place on Feb 18 were astonishing. President Musharraf???s supporting party Pakistan Muslim League (Q) was wiped out and the ministers who were lucky enough to keep their seats are now at a safe distance from President Musharraf. The people at large want the president to go with no other choice. However, the US has been unduly interfering in our politics as its Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher has emphasised the need to continue President Musharraf???s rule. Pakistan has remained under military rule for more than half of its life, and the people no longer want any dictator to rule over them. As the PPP has secured the maximum number of seats, followed by the PML (N), the ties made between these parties also pose a serious challenge to the president???s stay any further in office. His rule for eight long years has brought many hardships to the nation and now he should quit The US slogan for democracy is and justice is just a slogan and in real and practicle not willing to be so for their own agenda From whome to expect the justice and democracy in the world the only power it self violate This is not the Musharaf pakistan but of 1,600/-Millions people and what they think of the rest This is not in the benifit of US to support the cruel one of the country who now the people think as Mechile G.Choaf The people and the young generation have very strong anti US sentiments due to their blind support of Dictator Musharaf This is not a good sign and this will increase with passage of time Posted By: eddiewhere @ 02/29/2008 2:12:44 AM Comment: IN THIS ENVIORNMENT OF ECONOMIC FEUDALISM WHERE THE MIDDLE CLASS MUST SUFFER IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE pROFITS OF MULTINATIONAL CORpORATIONS, WHO BENEFIT FROM CHEAp LABOR, THE AMERICAN DREAM HAS BEEN LOST. People in Pakistan voted in favor of Bhutto's party, not for Zardari, who was responsible for her twice ouster from the Premiership due to his shameful dirty roles of Mr.10%. Country's biggest grass root party preaching "Government of the People, by the People, for the People", which was founded on the basic principle of providing them respectable " Bread, Dress and Shelter", was created by Bhutto, hanged by a military dictator. Now, the party is orphaned in a bomb-blast death of his daughter during another military rule. Situation brings forth her rootless spouse, "Mr.Tenpercent Zardari", holding the People's mandate ( at ransom?), for endless exploits. Whatever the words mean, they cannot change the genes. The name "Zardari" literally means "Gold-Lord" and he lives his name literally. He was responsible for legislating and monopolizing gold import into Pakistan (through an Emirates based gold-tycoon of Pakistan origin) on a ridiculous 2% custom duty and made unfathomable ocean of fortune. If the US administration is ready," to let them have their rounds of discussions, still expecting the [Pakistani] Army to take the necessary military action, counting on an interesting transition", then the whole riddle is solved. The ongoing change in Pakistan is not a change of " act" in the drama being staged but, a "change of gear into a powerful all terrain drive", to move forward on the designed road-map, crossing effectively all rugged and bogging tracts en-route. The caretaker government was anything but neutral and the Election Commission was suspect. But pressure from Washington compelled him to change his plans. Had he still engaged in massive rigging, not only would he have drawn Washington???s ire but also evoked ugly street protests. He knew that if the ???agitators??? caused the country to come to a standstill, the army would distance itself from him. Without their protection, he would not last a day in office. The habitual offender Musharaf this time fail for not carrying out a full pleadge crime of rigging due to international observer existing These people will never be convinced that it is time for the ex-general to go. To them, he is the embodiment of truth, the doer of all good things, and the prince of enlightened moderation without whom Pakistan would return to the Dark Ages. It is time for Musharraf, to wake up and realise that the game is over. Everything Musharraf stood for was repudiated on Feb 18. The electoral results have made it clear, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the people do not wish to see Musharraf holding court on radio and television day in and day out. Aitzaz Ahsan spoke for millions when he said, ???Musharraf is the most hated & loathed man in Pakistan.??? During the last several months, poll after poll showed Musharraf???s popularity plummeting like a lead coin in a bottomless well. But he continued to reject the polls by saying that they only represented the views of a few thousand people and asserted vainly that he was vastly popular in the populous countryside. But even the King???s party was not taken in by the myths spun out by the monarch. It knew that once rigging was no longer an option, its fate was sealed. Why else would they seek to obtain the release of one of the key instigators of the Lal Masjid takeover, Abdul Aziz, just days prior to the vote? This was an obvious ploy designed to play on the religious sympathies of the people and to garner much needed votes. How else could one justify releasing a real and confirmed terrorist from jail while holding the nation???s eminent justices and barristers under house arrest? Musharraf had said not too long ago that he would step down when he saw that the people were no longer with him. He said he was continuing as president only because it was in the national interest. He would rather be playing golf or tennis, he noted, but the situation required him to sacrifice his personal interests. Well, the time has now come for him to do the nation a favour and quit as he is the only evil for this country. This is worrisome for the new elected politicians. They know very much the hard fact that they have not been elected on merits, it is the hatred against Musharraf they have en-cashed. Because Musharraf have destroyed the true democrative spirit of the Pakistan???s Constitution by extremely autocratic and extra constitutional way before conducting the general election so that he could do the post election rigging. If those powers are not taken away from the presidency then the politicians will be nothing more than tools in his hands. If the politicians failed to restore highest court judges that will mean they are empty handed. During that war the US supplied provisions and munitions to all its allies, refusing currency and demanding gold payments in exchange. By 1945, 80% of the world's gold was sitting in US vaults. The dollar became the one undisputed global reserve currency -- it was treated world-wide as `safer than gold'. The Bretton Woods agreement was established. The US took full advantage over the next decades and printed dollars like there was no tomorrow. The US exported many mountains of dollars, paying for ever-increasing amounts of commodities, tax cuts for the rich, many wars abroad, mercenaries, spies and politicians the world over. You see, this did not affect inflation at home! TheUS got it all for free! Well, maybe for a forest or two. Over subsequent decades the world's vaults bulged at the seams and more and more vaults were built, just for US dollars. Each year, the US spends many more dollars abroad that at home. Analysts pretty much agree that outside the US , of the savings, or reserves, of all other countries, in gold and all currencies -- that a massive 66% of this total wealth is in US dollars! In 1971 several countries simultaneously tried to sell a small portion of their dollars to the US for gold. Krassimir Petrov, (Ph. D. in Economics at OhioUniversity ) recently wrote, 'The US Government defaulted on its payment on August 15, 1971 . While popular spin told the story of `severing the link between the dollar and gold', in reality the denial to pay back in gold was an act of bankruptcy by the US Government.' The 1945 Breton Woods agreement was unilaterally smashed. The dollar and US economy were on a precipice resembling Germany in 1929. The US now had to find a way for the rest of the world to believe and have faith in the paper dollar. The solution was in oil, in the petrodollar. The US viciously bullied first Saudi Arabia and then OPEC to sell oil for dollars only -- it worked, the dollar was saved. Now countries had to keep dollars to buy much needed oil. And the US could buy oil all over the world, free of charge. What a Houdini for the US ! Oil replaced gold as the new foundation to stop the paper dollar sinking. Since 1971, the US printed even more mountains of dollars to spend abroad. The trade deficit grew and grew. The US sucked-in much of the world's products for next to nothing. More vaults were built. Expert, Cóilínn Nunan, wrote in 2003, 'The dollar is the de facto world reserve currency: the US currency accounts for approximately two thirds of all official exchange reserves. More than four-fifths of all foreign exchange transactions and half of all world exports are denominated in dollars. In addition, all IMF loans are denominated in dollars.' Dr Bulent Gukay of Keele University recently wrote, 'This system of the US dollar acting as global reserve currency in oil trade keeps the demand for the dollar `artificially' high. This enables the US to carry out printing dollars at the price of next to nothing to fund increased military spending and consumer spending on imports. There is no theoretical limit to the amount of dollars that can be printed. As long as the US has no serious challengers, and the other states have confidence in the US dollar, the system functions.' Until recently, the US-dollar has been safe. However, since 1990 Western Europe has been busy growing, swallowing up central and Eastern Europe .French and German bosses were jealous of the US ability to buy goods and people the world over for nothing. They wanted a slice of the free cake too. Further, they now had the power and established the euro in late 1999 against massive US-inspired opposition across Europe , especially from Britain - paid for in dollars of course. But the euro succeeded. Only months after the euro-launch, Saddam's Iraq announced it was switching from selling oil in dollars only, to euros only -- breaking the OPEC agreement.. Iran , Russia , Venezuela , Libya , all began talking openly of switching too -- were the floodgates about to be opened? Then aero planes flew into the twin-towers in September 2001. Was this another Houdini chance to save the US (petro) dollar and the biggest financial/economic crash in history? War preparations began in the US But first war-fever had to be created -- and truth was the first casualty. Other oil producing countries watched-on. In 2000 Iraq began selling oil in euros. In 2002, Iraq changed all their petro-dollars in their vaults into euros. A few months later, the US began their invasion of Iraq . The whole world was watching: very few aware that the US was engaging in the first oil currency, or petro-dollar war. After the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, remember, the US secured oil areas first. Their first sales in August were, of course, in dollars, again. The only government building in Baghdad not bombed was the Oil Ministry! It does not matter how many people are murdered -- for the US , the petro-dollar must be saved as the only way to buy and sell oil - otherwise the US economy will crash, and much more besides. In early 2003, Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela talked openly of selling half of its oil in euros (the other half is bought by the US ). On 12 April 2003, the US-supported business leaders and some generals in Venezuela kidnapped Chavez and attempted a coup. The masses rose against this and the Army followed suit. The coup failed. This was bad for the US . In November 2000 the euro/dollar was at $0.82 dollars, its lowest ever, and still diving, but when Iraq started selling oil in euros, the euro dive was halted. In April 2002 senior OPEC reps talked about trading in euros and the euro shot up. In June 2003 the US occupiers of Iraq switched trading back to dollars and the euro fell against the dollar again. In August 2003 Iran starts to sell oil in euros to some European countries and the euro rises sharply. In the winter of 2003-4 Russian and OPEC politicians talked seriously of switching oil/gas sales to the euro and the euro rose. In February 2004 OPEC met and made no decision to turn to the euro -- and yes, the euro fell against the dollar. In June 2004 Iran announced it would build an oil bourse to rival London and New York , and again, the euro rose. The euro stands at $1.27 and has been climbing of late. But matters this month became far, far worse for the US dollar. On 5th May Iran registered its own Oil Bourse, the IOB. Not only are they now selling oil in euros from abroad -- they have established an actual Oil Bourse, a global trading centre for all countries to buy and sell their oil! In Chavez's recent visit to London ; he talked openly about supporting the Iranian Oil Bourse, and selling oil in euros. When asked in London about the new arms embargo imposed by the US against Venezuela , Chavez prophetically dismissed the US as 'a paper tiger'. Currently, almost all the world's oil is sold on either the NYMEX, New York Mercantile Exchange, or the IPE, London's International Petroleum Exchange. Both are owned by US citizens and both sell and buy only in US dollars. The success of the Iran Oil Bourse makes sense to Europe , which buys 70% of Iran 's oil. It makes sense for Russia , which sells 66% of its oil to Europe . But worse for the US , China and India have already stated they are very interested in the new Iranian Oil Bourse. If there is a tactical-nuclear strike on - deja-vu - `weapons of mass destruction' in Iran , who would bet against a certain Oil Exchange and more, being bombed too? And worse for Bush. It makes sense for Europe , China , India and Japan-- as well as all the other countries mentioned above -- to buy and sell oil in Euro's. They will certainly have to stock-up on euros now, and they will sell dollars to do so. The euro is far more stable than the debt-ridden dollar. The IMF has recently highlighted US economic difficulties and the trade deficit strangling the US-- there is no way out. The problem for so many countries now is how to get rid of their vaults full of dollars, before it crashes? And the US has bullied so many countries for so many decades around the world, that many will see a chance to kick the bully back. The US cannot accept even 5% of the world's dollars -- it would crash the US economy dragging much of the world with it, especially Britain . To survive, as the Scottish Socialist Voice article stated, 'the US , needs to generate a trade surplus to get out of this one. Problem is it can't.' This is spot on. To do that they must force US workers into near slavery, to get paid less than Chinese or Indian workers. We all know that this will not happen. What will happen in the US ? Chaos for sure. Maybe a workers revolution, but looking at the situation as it is now, it is more likely to be a re-run of Germany post-1929, and some form of extreme-right mass movement will emerge... Does Europe and China/Asia have the economic independence and strength to stop the whole world's economies collapsing with the US ? Their vaults are full to the brim with dollars. The US has to find a way to pay for its dollar-imperialist exploitation of the world since 1945.. Somehow, eventually, it has to account for every dollar in every vault in the world. Bombing Iran could backfire tremendously. It would bring Iran openly into the war in Iraq , behind the Shiite majority. The US cannot cope even now with the much smaller Iraqi insurgency. Perhaps the US will feed into the Sunni v Shiite conflict and turn it into a wider Middle-East civil-war. However, this is so dangerous for global oil supplies. Further, they know that this would be temporary, as some country somewhere else, will establish a euro-oil-exchange, perhaps in Brussels . There is one `solution' -- scrap the dollar and print a whole new currency for the US . This will destroy 66% of the rest of the world's savings/reserves in one swoop. Imagine the implications? Such are the desperate things now swimming around heads in the White House, Wall Street and Pentagon. Another is to do as Germany did, just before invading Poland in 1938. The Nazis filmed a mock Polish Army attack on Germany , to win hearts and minds at home. But again, this is a finger in the dam. So, how is the US going to escape this time? The only global arena of total superiority left is military. Who knows what horrors lie ahead. A new world war is one tool by which the US could discipline its `allies' into keeping the dollar in their vaults. The task of socialists today is to explain to as many as possible, especially our class, that the coming crisis belongs purely to capitalism and (dollar) imperialism. Not people of other cultures, not Islam, not the axis of evil or their so-called WMDs. Their system alone is to blame. The new Iranian Oil Bourse, the IOB, is situated in a new building on the free-trade-zone island of Kish , in the Persian Gulf . It's computers and software are all set to go. The IOB was supposed to be up and running last March, but many pressures forced a postponement. Where the pressure came from is obvious. It was internationally registered on 5th May and supposed to open mid-May, but its opening was put off, some saying the oil-mafia was involved, along with much international pressure. ........................... In 2007 Crude was traded around 60 usd. Everyone know dollar was getting weaker and weaker day by day. Then US with the help of their two NYMEX & IPE exchange started raising the price of crude by Future trading on crude( called speculation). Today crude is around 140 usd. It means whole world who were paying 60 usd, now paying 140 usd, means demand of dollar increase to 230% and dollar start again rising. Even OPEC recently that in hike og crude, 60% contribution is due to speculation (Future market). Moral of story is USA has & will go to destroy any nation to keep its monopoly of dollar in world.
Can the US function without Chinese cash? A few billion has been exchanged for banks - the short of the story is that the US government has no intention of stopping the Chinese from billion dollar aquisitions - it might not be able to Further reported by London Telegraph and bloged by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgbo2fd_Fy4 On Dec 23 world bankers are now talking downward spirals and depresion world wide including the US - These depresions will not effect China or India - Giving the Chinese and other greater leverage against the US economy and therefore domestic and foriegn policy Can the US function without Chinese cash Is it Friday : There does seem to be some wierd inter relationship forming - they need the goods to manufacture and you need the cash - Difference being the Chinese might decide somthing that starves a few million of their own and it won't bother them - Can America do that ? No of course not - playing with the Chinese is at best dangerous IMO
WHAT IS YOUR FREEDOM WORTH? What is Freedom and liberty worth to you? It looks as if Congress and our illustrious President think it is worth $20 a week for as long as your job lasts! I just read the headlines in the news and it is stated that if the stimulus?? passes it will mean about twenty dollars extra a week on your paycheck. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a bad thing, but in today's economy, especially with manufacturing mostly heading south and west beyond our borders, to Mexico, India, Pakistan and China, how long will you have a job, unless you work in the office, in local sales or such. For the many, who push wires, screw, bolt and glue on the assembly line, each day might be their last, because of the cheaper wages overseas. I'm sure there are some manufacturers that are patriotic enough that they will try to stay and will get a few concessions but they will only employ a few hundred. The rest are left standing! If it came down to passing this spending bill, stimulus for that twenty dollars a week and shortly after wards watching our country go bankrupt and turn into a socialists nation anyway because of no jobs, or holding on to your freedom and liberty, Which will you choose? And they are shouting 'Buy American' !! Where can we find an American T.V., clothes and in many cases American grown food, Not at WalMart? If we buy only American made clothes, in a very short time we will be "Nude America"! AJ, that is fine for the young, but there are more older people who the military won't take. Andy, back years ago I did just that, laid my life on the line in combat! Yes, Old Goat, we think alike on a lot of subjects. Oh Nooo, If you died you wouldn't hold your freedom but you might have insured that another would be free, and for that I commend you. There are so few today that would step into harms way. Papi, fighting after they start taking it away is only natural, but usually a lost cause, unless you've been fighting to keep them from starting to take it. Weasel, You are correct, liberty is a gem of so great a price that it can't be bought except with our blood and guts. Whitehouse, 50 years ago I enlisted in the U.S.M.C. Am I too old to go back in? You are right about the D.C. comedians. They can't tell a decent joke! Linda K, that is the point I was trying to make, We need to stop this ignorant bill and get the nation back to work to heal the economy instead of putting a band aid on it. Herald, So right, in your approach to business practices. And your last line is what I was implying. I'm sorry you feel that way Ben, because I have many friends in Canada that feel just the opposite. And if the visions of the World Bank comes true, we will all be the same country. You need to lighten up a little and lose the anger. It is not healthy ! Amen, Rooster, Amen! Dr, Awkward, Spoken like a patriot. Our forefathers are smiling. Allsrh, I must compliment you. You sound like a orgiginal Constitutionalists. Bladespiner, I can't agree more, that every loyal American should be in a grass roots group. But it should be one that will work hard to bring the U.S. back to 1787 ideology, not 2009. John, Individual freedom is but an apple on a tree, national freedom is the tree whereon the apple grows. When the fruit ripens it falls away and is free from the source but unless the seed germinates, when the apple rots, it has done nothing. Madeamove, I may have fought beside your brothers in 'Nam. If a thing is not worth fighting for, one does not need it. If one is willing to let others fight, when he can fight also, so he may have it, he is not worthy of holding it. Freedom is a fragile thing which can die if not nurtured and maintained. For those of us who are still fighting the good fight for the right to stay free, we must seek others with like mind and join in the group for strength. If you need a good group check this site! www.grassfire.org, the patriotic resistance. We have chapters in most states. Blue lotus, I understand what you are saying, but many religious organizations are as bad as those who are the oppressors. You are Christian, but as we can see by the world today, the Muslim radical wants only his brand in the world. Freedom may be granted by God but it is won by man and an idea, for even an atheist can have freedom and fight for it as well as any other. But you are right in that man made things are temporary. Yes, our children are the future and the future, though it be unknown will still be an adventure if allowed to unfurl naturally without the hand of greed and corruption. What that future holds is up to us today and it depends entirely on our actions whether our grandchildren live free or die beneath the oppressive thumb of tyranny. With many of the attitudes which have been displayed by some of the people in the open internet forums I've visited, our future looks dim, for they see, act , react, and then think, in that order, and when things mess up, they tend to place the blame on others. People, it is up to us to take this country in the direction it must go and only we can guide it that way, so please, get up from in front of your computer, turn off the TV and work for our freedom and liberty. Go to your neighbors, talk to the city and county leaders, your state reps, any one that has the vote, and help preserve our Right to live free. No, but only because of age, backing and money. I am a poor man, and my wealth is knowledge and faith in common sense. I have not an education in politics or finance. I have never owned a business but have managed them back into the black. But I will help anyone who holds my beliefs in America and for the good of the American people, in any way possible to attain that office. If asked to run, with the proper backing and force of power, then even in my old age, I would say ,YES, will, but only for one term. I do not want the power nor money, except what I need to exist. And I would probably be one of the most hated of all the past holders, because I am honest and speak my mind, no holds barred. A true patriot does not fight for position, but for the good of all and asks for nothing in return but life, liberty, truth and freedom, with the strength of the CONSTITUTION always backing him or her! The things the Constitution grants may not be there if the country goes very far down this road it is on, toward Socialism. You have heard O baa ma say the Constitution is flawed! To me that is code talk for let's change it for the opposite and the opposite is not freedom but serfdom at best and slavery in the worse case. If you are looking for an American TV, you'll have to go back more than 15 years. There hasn't been one made since the late '60's. For a while in the '70's you could buy a Zenith made in Canada, but by the late '80's they went slant eye. And if a persons principles are worth more than freedom and liberty, all I can say is, you sure have a low esteem, for without individual and national freedom and liberty none of us have anything and don't deserve anything. I'll let this stay a while longer. Here is a web sight that you all should see. I've sent it out to several of my network but I believe every American should know this. http://civ.org/ni/newlog.phpl_v3 The link don't work. Check the question; 'How much do you know about the United States and the Constitution? I starred it. No, Doc, liberty and freedom are not about money or business. Freedom and liberty is about the people not being abused by a government and led to believe it cares about them. The government is a corporation which has taken over and is trying to take our freedom away. If you think money means freedom and liberty, I feel so sorry for you, because you have fallen into the grasp of the enemy, which is our greedy overlords. No, I am not misinformed, my friend, not by a long shot!
Why did USA invade IRAQ? Was it to stop them switching the trading currency of crude oil from USD to EUROS? If EURO was the number one currency then USA would lose its position as the super power of the world eventually, right? So they invaded and removed Saddam and installed a slave government who would keep the currency of oil in USD. Therefore saving the US economy from a recession. If you have been sleeping this past year - the recession has started regardless. Anyway, IRAN are currently contemplating switching to EURO - this is why they too, have been threatened by USA. Bush recently visited ISRAEL, I wonder what they discussed. Will USA make ISRAEL attack IRAN? ISRAEL is supported by the USA because it is a slave government. They are given nuclear weapons - whilst IRAQ and IRAN are threatened with invasion because of thier want of nuclear POWER! Is the 'War on Terror' really the 'War to keep USA number 1'? This is were it gets interesting - the USA has so much power, these middle eastern countries have no chance right? RUSSIA and IRAQ have strengthened their ties - CHINA too. Nuclear power/weapons are currently being made in RUSSIA for use in IRAQ. RUSSIA has threatened EUROPE with attacks if IRAQ in invaded. Another major player is INDIA. A 100 years from now, the invasion of IRAQ could be seen as the trigger for WW3. WATCH THESE CLIPS BEFORE COMMENTING! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEpp9E6aJGw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=249JaIaubVw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuZC6EkRfOQ&feature=related @ Super If you watched my clips you would under stand that IRAQ and IRAN's objectives are not to wipe ISRAEL off the map - but to remove ZIONIST ORGANISTIONS. When you invaded GERMANY in WW2 it was not to wipe GERMANY off the map but to wipe NAZI's off the pages of history! Open your eyes to the truth - we live in a mediated society and its those who are stupid who accept what they tell us! @ NATTASSIA Thank George W Bush has killed over 1,000,000 IRAQI men, women and children. SARCASM @ WIDGET Comprehension - that is what you are lacking. @ WW3 I too, would go to war for my RELIGION (ISLAM) and COUNTRY (ENGLAND). But I would not for the USA.

China shot down a US sattelite and US didnt even respond. ist because we know that arguing & making war with china can get our ass kick?
